Beautiful property, tucked away from central Karatu town. Car required to get to town. Great place to stay for a safari tour to Ngorongoro, Tarangire & Manyara. Good water pressure and breakfast. Dinner options were varied every day and they cooked traditional corn Ugali with greens and curry one evening on request. The staff was super awesome and they even baked a cake to celebrate a surprise birthday party!

One of the best lodges during our safari! The staff was incredibly friendly, and we had great conversations with them. Their attention to detail was outstanding. They even helped me to get my toothbrush back from another hotel :) Good was so gooooooood.
The pool area was amazing, and the views from the lodge were breathtaking.
I don’t understand some of the reviews saying the tents are dark—you can literally open them almost all the way around without worrying about mosquitoes, as everything is covered with nets. The bathroom had a fantastic shower, and everything was spotlessly clean.
We truly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer!

Africa Safari Karatu surprised us!! The facilities, staff, location, views, food... everything was just perfect. You need to do a bit of off-roading to reach the property, but the travel is worth it. The place is so clam and quiet and the view all around the property is very nice.

This lodge is truly exceptional. We had an incredible time, and the staff were absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. The charm of the place lies in its old-world style, which may not be for everyone, but we found it to be part of its unique appeal. Don’t be swayed by outdated or negative reviews you might find online—this place is far better than some might make it out to be.
While the lodge has a more classic, traditional vibe, it’s incredibly well-maintained and filled with character. Every corner reflects the rich history of the place, and despite its age, everything is in great condition. It’s clear that the management takes great pride in preserving the lodge while ensuring it remains comfortable and welcoming for guests.
The food was consistently delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed each meal. The atmosphere, both in the lodge and the surrounding area, made our stay unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place with character, warmth, and a personal touch, this is definitely the place to stay. It’s old style, yes, but in the best possible way, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable experience.

Great hotel, in a fantastic location with amazing staff.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.

Thank you, Anita and Ernest, for the warm hospitality and genuine welcome at the lodge. Nestled amidst trees and flowers, the cozy hut provided a clean and comfortable stay, complete with a thoughtful touch like a warm water bottle in the evening. The delicious meals, presented with excellence, and the attentive staff added to the overall charm. The diverse range of activities, from visiting a local school to the awe-inspiring day safari in Serengeti, made my stay memorable. Looking forward to returning soon.
The place is a pretty upscale tent camp (e.g. nice shower), no complaints about the food. And the pool was a nice touch. It is a good choice for proximity to Ngorongoro Crater, which has become so popular that you might encounter heavy traffic regardless of where you are (unless you really pay the extra cash to stay in one of the lodges within the conservation area). We were there in October, and the total trip, from lodge to entering the area (including paperwork at the gate) was about an hour. Overall a very good choice, no regrets.
We completely fell in love with this lodge and its hosts. Our safari was organized at the very last moment, and only thanks to the Foresight lodge did it happen. They booked a very experienced guide for us (Godi N.). We were recommended choosing the right part of Serengeti - and thus we managed to see migration, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, hippos and 1000s of wildebeests and zebras.
Furthermore, the food was always great.
We had a magical stay at the Foresight Eco Lodge. The lodge is located up in the hills surrounded by nature, with a nice fireplace to relax and watch the sunset. Our room was spacious, clean and had an amazing view. The whole team was very friendly and always helpful. Anita, one of the managing partners, organized us a great safari experience with an experienced guide and driver. I highly recommend staying there.
The team is just amazing! All are friendly and welcoming.
The whole lodge incl. the bungalows is very nice.
You recognize lots of details made with love.
The food is delicious.
We had a amazing Safari tour with Ernest in the Ngorongoro crater, his eagle eyes for spotting animals are unbelievable!
We would have loved to stay longer!
The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond in service! Food was abundant and well prepared by the chef. The tents are high quality, the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is well equipped. Wifi connection good. The view to the right is pleasant.
The price per night is somewhat high- but still very reasonable compared to Lodges in the National Parks.
