Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Everything was amazing about Havae Lodge. Owners were so incredible nice. The place was spotless, kitchen had everything you need to cook, bed was comfy, hot showers, and wifi. Most importantly it’s right in front of the the famous wave… shitting on the front deck watching the wave crash! Can’t wait to come back.

We can’t recommend Vanira Lodge enough for at least part of your stay in Tahiti. It’s more of a local vibe than touristy Papeete and the grounds are absolutely stunning, relaxing, and private. We booked the vai iti bungalow (with the hot tub on the private deck) and highly recommend for the romantic and relaxing part of your trip. The views are spectacular and the nearby beach was one of the most beautiful we saw on the whole island.
it was magical waking up to the view of the ocean. the cabins are all different and beautiful, the grounds full of tropical flowers. we stayed in Ofai which was one of the highest and open cabins. it was airy and comfortable. no WiFi in the cabin, only by the reception/restaurant. the Lodge offered breakfast and dinner (not everyday for dinner), though we made food in the kitchen
Quirky, and unique accommodation beautifully hidden in the foothills of the island peaks, 5 minutes from Teahupoo. Breath taking views from each lodge. Great staff, so helpful and pleasant when we needed it most. We loved it here, and so pleased we were able to stay a second night! Dinner and breakfasts were super tasty!!
Loved the view and privacy, and the uniqueness of the whole Lodge. Restaurant was very good, although they ran out of a couple things at dinner and breakfast, but that wasn't a big deal to us. The few staff that we met were kind and friendly. The location was very convenient for our tour in the morning at Teahupoo.
We loved our stay at Vanira Lodge. It was very private and secluded and quiet. The view was amazing. The dinners in the restaurant were delicious. We especially loved the molten chocolate cake served with whipped cream and ice cream. The hot tub on our deck was a wonderful plus. The villa itself was very unique with coral and shells set into the ceiling. It was nice to stay outside of Papeete and see more of the island. So glad we chose to stay here.
