Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
My response is in reference to the accommodation at Tussock Lodge which was redirected from the hotel. Wheelchair Accessible Facilities were excellent, pleasant decor, warm and comfortable, generous breakfast.
Lovely quiet spot. The bedroom was a good size with ensuite. Flat screen TV and Heat Pump in the bedroom. Direct access to outside. Dog friendly. Two Communal lounges as well as kitchen facilities with tea and coffee. Breakfast was continental, help yourself and was adequate.
A lovely Lodge, we enjoyed our stay ♥
We were biking the Otago Rail Trail and Peter's place is a further 3 kms off the trail. However it was well worthwhile. A very comfortable and warm lodge set in beautiful surroundings on a working farm. Peter made us feel very welcome and was very friendly and informative. He made vehicles available for people without cars to get to the Waipiata tavern for a great dinner.
