Stunning property situated on the river that runs from Lake Taupo to the Huka Falls. The main lodge is beautifully appointed and provides seating and dining areas inside and outside. The rooms are equally wonderfully, each having access to a Porch, rolling grass and the river view.
Featuring an on-site tennis court, The Flying Trout Boutique Lodge is located in Taupo. Each spacious suites offers elegant décor and some provide views of the surrounding alpine area.

Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
We liked how the Lodge is nice and close to town, the Lake and walkways. The room was clean very spacious, quiet and had everything we needed, we could see the Lake from the patio too.
This is a pleasant lodge with an outdoor hot tub that was great for a private soak in the morning. Staff were friendly and responsive when we had a minor issue with the provided PayTV. The pool at the hotel is a nice size and the location is good for a stay of a few days. We loved the many things to do around the area - the highlight being Orakei Korako Cave & Geothermal Park, a 30-minute drive to the north.
I will be definitely coming back to Lake Vista Lodge. The Lodge is very comfortable and luxurious, the views are amazing and very close to town. I will be recommending this to my friends and family.
Didn't think I was going to stay in a backpacker lodge after my backpacking days but I'm glad I did. The room was clean and acceptable for a one night transit stay in Taupo. I booked a room with a private toilet so my experience may be slightly different from the other backpackers in the lodge but for the cost and the clean bed abd good night's rest, Haka Lodge is bang on the buck.
We only stayed for 1 day. Weather was wet cold and windy but they were kind enough to leave the heater on for when we arrived so the room was warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this lodge and it is a short walking distance to the main township.
