Looking for a lodge?
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.

The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, and the owner very personable and engaging too. Facilities were good with the restaurant/bar and spa onsite. I appreciated being given access to the backpackers kitchen to use the oven there to bake my daughter's birthday cake. The grounds and access to walks right from the car park was really great. We had a great time staying at Alpine Lodge.

Location is perfect if you're travelling on your car. The views are lovely and the night sky is wonderful. I work as a housekeeper for a luxury lodge in Nelson and I must say our Tophouse Cottage looked fantastic; tidy and clean.

Beautiful location! The property was so amazingly peaceful, the wee walk out the back gate to the picnic table was perfect. I had tea here, listening to the birdsong, whilst waiting for my friend to arrive. Just a short walk to the lake and to the Alpine Lodge, and no sandflies! Loved it, and would definitely book again if I visited St Arnaud. Pip and Kevin were fabulous hosts and Finn was the wiggliest, happiest doggo.

Lovely fully equipped cottage with plenty of room for two couples. Clean and comfortable. Booked for dinner which was a superb dining experience. Thanks Chef. Owners exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thank you for solving our Rainbow road lunch problem and for storing our excess luggage for the day. The location is beautiful and the loved the historical main lodge and gardens. What a treasure you have.
