The view was pretty. It had two heaters so we were nice and warm. It had lots of hot water and a powerful shower. The little kitchen area had everything we needed. The electric blanket was great too. Nice little bathroom and glad it had a heated towel rail.

We had a family room with its own bathroom, which was great. The rest of the facilities were good too. We made use of the kitchen/common room and the hot tubs (which you book separately). Despite very cold, near-snowing, weather in Ohakune the Snowman Lodge was warm and comfortable. It was also very central to Ohakune and all the restaurants, ski shops, etc.

We loved this place. The staff were so welcoming and thoughtful - an excellent B&B experience. Rooms were comfortable and lodge area was very comfortable. A delicious, home cooked breakfast was included. Finally, they place has a number of animals on premise and our hosts were very kind to let us pet some of the animals including, sheep, alpacas and a few Maine Coon cats!

Close to Turoa ski field and ski hire shop. Loved the room - felt like a ski lodge. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony for a drink. Great to have a mini bar (paid). Bed super comfortable. Room was very warm and we didn’t need to put the heat pump on. Heating cupboard for wet clothes in the bathroom. Bathroom is a little dated but great shower and big bath. Shared Laundry on the floor. Enjoyed the breakfast, the lively atmosphere in the restaurant/pub and the friendly staff.

Everything. The host and hostess are amazing people. This is one of the best lodges in NZ. I strongly recommend it. Marie and Bernie are very kind, and taking good care of the guests. The breakfast is delicious. We definitely will come back. Beautiful golf course a walking distance.
