Perfect location, everything we needed was in the room with a larger fridge than other rooms we have stayed in on our trip. There was the bonus of a detached communal kitchen with plenty of cooking appliances. The dinner we ate at the Charleston Tavern next to the lodge was delicious.

An amazing location, with fantastic views. The apartment was built to maximise the view south along the coast, and was very well appointed, fastidiously clean and really well furnished.

Te Nikau Retreat, hotel in Charleston

Wake up to the sound of waves from the sea and birds singing in the trees.

Owner was kind and accommodating, location was amazing. Dwellings have character and subtle artistic touches that felt very familiar as a kiwi who has grown up around alot of artists. Nothing generic, and I loved that they compost and recycle

Charleston Lodge is a little gem. Our room was clean, spacious and really comfortable. The lodge is conveniently located next to Charleston Tavern and Underworld Adventures. Fiona is a wonderful host and we will definitely stay here again.

The lodge had a lovely feel to it. The garden outside our room was beautiful. The room was large with a separate bedroom. The tavern next door was a plus to have dinner. Fiona was super friendly and allowed us to use her clothesline.

The lodge is small and cosy, not many people, and the very fun and friendly owners! Because there are not many guests, the shared kitchen is super tidy and has all neccessary things. The room itself had small kitchenette, so we were able to make ourselves breakfast. The view from the rooms is also great. And it's close to the Underworld Adventures - the must-do activity in Charleston, so we could wake up and just go and enjoy :)

Lodge was very quiet, clean and comfortable. I have been very welcome, and check-in was quick and easy, despite my last minute booking. Location next to the tavern is good as there is not a lot of places to have dinner around (otherwise, I could have done it in the room, everything was available to cook).

Charming Charleston: Our host Fiona could not have been friendlier or more helpful. There are two small but gorgeous bays over the road from the lodge and there's a swimming bay within walking distance. The tavern next door provided tasty food & excellent music. Great to have a separate room in a motel unit and we appreciated the outdoor seating area. Comfy beds and very clean. Great value for money.
