Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Location is simply outstanding, and both the room with it's massive windows onto the fjord, plus the view from the main lodge itself is stunning. Very comfortable room, a little hot - surprisingly, but happy. Breakfast choice was excellent, the host Svein is a natural and goes out of his way to maximize the experience of staying there. Good bar too. Highly recommend the place.
First of all the owners are extremely attentive to their customers, which comes down to a very personal feeling when you're in the lodge. They take care of any of your needs. So far away from civilization you can count on a fabulous experience, connecting with nature if you want or just relaxing at the lodge with that unbelievable view.
We did both, hiked the surrounding mountains and enjoyed a laid back afternoon one day. The food is delicious and cooked on site. That rounds off the last part of the experience.
