This place is a DREAM. We have visited Laguna de Apoyo a few times in the past, and have stayed in different hotels.
San Simian was a lot better than the others. It had access to everything we needed, AND it was a lot more quiet, it had lots of shade and beautiful gardens.
There is a hike to the Catarina Mirador 100 m away from the hotel, which was a bonus.
You wake up every morning with the sounds of monkeys, birds, squirrels and a beautiful view of the water.
You can order a coffee thermos and have it ready for you when you wake up in the morning, before breakfast, so you can enjoy it in your room or in the hammock outside your room, or by the lake.
The shower in the cabin we stayed in was open concept. What a lovely experience to take a shower under the stars! There is always warm water, which is a plus in Nicaragua
The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful.
Daniel, the server is always ready to help with whatever you need.

Nicolas was so very helpful, he wanted us to get the most out of our trip. The lodges are in the middle of the Mombacho reserve and it feels amazingly wild. We wanted to emerge ourselves in the rainforest experience and we certainly got that. The lodges are basic situated near a 30 + meter viewing platform which was incredible. All sorts of creatures, beautiful butterflies and howler monkeys.
