Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
One of our favorite lodges in Namibia! It was really comfortable and modern lodge but at the same time felt like being on a real farm (which it is :)). Exceptionally friendly and warm staff, we had a lovely dinner and they offered a plate of snack to enjoy while watching the sunset. Good hiking route to the waterhole. Many different animals live nearby and the two dogs were lovely. It was easy to find and drive to the farm through well-marked route to two other farms. Perfect location between Etosha and Windhoek.
Located a bit off road in a beautiful private property with game crossing on the way, we had a great night at the lodge and I could only recommend the setting, the peace and quiet, the food and the people taking care of the place.
Staying at Khan River lodge was an exeptional experience and after three weeks in Namibia staying in 13 different locations we can say that Khan River was one of our absolute favorites. Rohan was very welcoming and took us on a great game drive with sundowner which we highly recommend. The food Josie and the ladies prepared with love was delicious. Overall the location is beautiful, clean and the great staff are unforgettable. Thanks for everything!
Khan River Lodge is a typical Namibian guest farm with an amount of accommodation that allows to fulfill every guest‘s wishes and preferences. Management and staff is very, very friendly and highly service- oriented and helpful. A lovely place with high comfort and cleanliness that offers the foreign traveller the Namibian bush feeling in comfort and a quiet atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable. Wifi connects you to the world, though. To be highly recommended. Hope to be back next year.
We didn’t want to stay in Swakopmund any longer and did look for an alternative on the way to Windhoek, we luckily found Khan River Lodge on Booking.com, Ruan and Josie are people you hardly find, friendly, efficient and Josie and her girls cooked up a storm for us. They like to make guests happy. Varkie was the Highlight – want to know whos Varkie? ask them
Rowan and Josy immediately made us feel home. They genuinely care about their guests. Combined with the small scale of the lodge (max 12 guests) made it the perfect location to finish our Namibia trip.
