The property and grounds are well designed. The garden and eating pavilions were really pretty and well maintained. It’s a very peaceful location and lovely on the river and watching people going about their everyday life. It is near to the most stunning waterfalls which are a must to visit as well as the Buddhist site only 3km away.
The deluxe triple rooms were very spacious. It is worth mentioning all the furniture which is beautiful and handmade by the owner.
The food was very tasty Sri Lankan style. The owner and his family were really lovely and friendly we really enjoyed our chats with them in the evening.

The location was amazing, slightly off the beaten track but worth it for the stunning views and surroundings and easy to access Ella by Tuk Tuk.
The staff are particularly helpful and friendly, Gamani looked after us so well.

Stunning log cabin vibes. Very close to the central strip but very quiet and peaceful. Easily walkable to all restaurants and bus stops etc… Set in the jungle so feel amongst the trees. Brand new furnishings and amazing shower/bath! Staff are very accommodating and will bend over backwards for anything you need.

It is a really amazing place, with an exceptional outlook. Just 2 bedrooms so we had it all for ourselves. It is run by a local family, who are humble and incredibly genuine and warm. We wished we could have enjoyed the views more and jungle experience. But we only stayed one night (arriving late and leaving early). Bravo the husband who built the property. The breakfast was excellent.

The location had a beautiful view and you could also sit outside. The nice arches bridge could be reached by only 5 minute walk, which was awesome. The host was very friendly and helpful. They also organized us a taxi back to Colombo and the breakfast was very good.

Exquisite, attentive but unobtrusive service. Lovely balcony view. Exceptional breakfast and dinner. Ready with a tuktuk if you need to get into town or to help with any direction or other services in my case renting a scooter and getting some superglue!). Fridge in room. Dimmable bedside lights.

It's beautiful who loves nature. The only thing who doesn't sleep at night with noises from the birds won't manage to sleep. But otherwise its a beautiful place.

Our stay at River Lodge was very pleasant. The room was clean, spacious, comfy bed & shower. You can hear the river from the rooms and restaurant. The local Sri Lankan food was really tasty. The owner and his colleagues are very friendly and made us feel like home. In the morning we took bath in the river and lay in the grass under the trees to read a book. The room is very cheap for the quality of the stay. We really recommend staying at River Lodge!
