The accommodation was perfect. We were even able to change rooms without any problems and the family who owned it was very nice. They kept looking after our son so that we could eat in peace. It's really worth stopping there and enjoying the extraordinary hospitality. Simply top!

Nature Glow Cottage, hotel in Udawalawe

Offering river views, Nature Glow Cottage in Udawalawe offers accommodation, free bikes, a garden, a terrace, a restaurant and water sports facilities.

This room exceeded my expectations by far. Very spacious room with a thee/coffee corner, two beds, table and chairs. Ac and fan but super cool inside so not even necessary to turn on the AC. Finally a room with bedside lights and proper curtains. And the most lovely balcony with a view of the jungle and the river running down below which you can also hear and is very calming. The scenery round here is beautiful and an ideal location for visiting Udawalawe National Park, but also to just unwind and enjoy nature and Damiante’s delicious cooking. Probably the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka so far and the portions were huge. You will not go hungry. Also just a very loving and caring family that are always available to help you in any way the can. I highly recommend the place to any and everybody visiting Sri Lanka.

Staying with Sujee was a delightful experience ! We had the chance to stay in the middle of the jungle between trees and a river flowing by. The room was super clean and comfortable and Sujee’s wife prepared the best Sri lankan diner for us. A true peaceful peace of heaven. We also did a Safari with Sujee who know his Udawalawe park by heart and can guide you the best to see the most of animals !

suncity privacy cottages, hotel in Udawalawe

Situated 14 km from Udawalawe National Park, suncity privacy cottages features accommodation with a garden, a bar and free shuttle service for your convenience. Complimentary WiFi is available.

I booked this place at the last minute, after a complicated situation, and not only it was my savior, but it was also a true surprise. I've stayed in many residences, cottages, and hotels around the world, but here I left a piece of my heart. The well-maintained garden, the variety of birds chirping (you can literally go birdwatching in the garden), the clean rooms, the delicious food, and the hospitality of the staff. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay before a safari in Udawalawe. It’s underrated, go and experience it for yourself, and thank you again for everything!

The Rainforest Ecolodge - Sinharaja with Shuttle Service from Car Park, hotel in Deniyaya

Located on a division of the Enselwatte Tea Estate, The Rainforest Ecolodge offers accommodation with a private bathroom surrounded by a forest habitat.

Absolutely the Best Way to Explore the Sinharaja Rainforest! This was our favourite place we stayed on Sri Lanka trip. This eco-lodge is hands down the ultimate way to experience the magic of the Sinharaja Rainforest. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear you’re in for something extraordinary. The location is beyond words—completely surrounded by lush rainforests, making you feel truly immersed in nature. It is so peaceful and quite - no noise from roads, traffic etc. The staff made our entire stay seamless and stress-free. They have a convenient car park in the nearby village, where they meet you and transfer you up to the lodge in a 4x4—what a fun start to the adventure! We stayed for two nights (but would have happily stayed a 3rd). The accommodation is spectacular. Large windows on every side of the room allow you to feel like you’re right in the heart of the jungle. Waking up to the incredible sounds of the rainforest was unforgettable, and we even spotted monkeys and exotic birds right in our room! Amazingly, you also get wifi in your room. The staff were outstanding, from the friendly restaurant team to the knowledgeable guides. On arrival, the Duty Manager, Mithun, warmly welcomed us, explained all the details about meal times, and helped us plan treks into the rainforest. They offer a variety of treks and provide you with a guide. They are also pretty flexible, We wanted a longer trek to explore more of the jungle and this wasn't a problem. The trek itself was a dream. We spotted an incredible variety of wildlife, including lizards, snakes, and a stunning array of Sri Lankan birds. The guides were so knowledgeable and enhanced the experience. Overall, this was incredible value for money. Running such a well-maintained eco-lodge in the middle of the rainforest can’t be easy, yet they make it feel effortless. If you’re looking for great value for money and an unforgettable way to explore Sinharaja, this is absolutely it.

Glimra eco lodge, hotel in Hambegamuwa

Situated in Hambegamuwa in the Monaragala District region, Glimra eco lodge features a balcony. Located 39 km from Udawalawe National Park, the property provides a garden and free private parking.

My partner and I stayed two nights in Glimra Eco lodge and this was a true pleasure. Roshani and her husband are such amazing hosts and so helpful, it couldn’t be any better. They did everything to make our stay memorable. From cooking delicious meals, to arranging a safari for us in Udawalawe, which is cheaper compared to the usual prices. Roshani also took us to a place nearby to see the beautiful sunset from up above a hill. The views from the ecolodge are amazing. One morning we could even see an elephant having a bath on the other side of the lake!

Brand new little and so beautiful lodges in a garden full of palm and banana trees. A balcony out of wood and a hammock to relax in the garden. The room has a mosquito net and the shower is a waterfall. Such a nice host, good communication, good food and service. He organized a safari with a skilled, nice and friendly driver. He took care of the tickets and everything, great al inclusive package . We saw so many beautiful animals and they even arranged a breakfast for us at a nice place in the national park.

The lodges were spacious and stylish and the outside bathroom is a fabulous feature. Pool is lovely. Very peaceful environment. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good both in the evening and for breakfast. We did an early morning safari one day and the breakfast provided for that was really good. Also, our guide, Gayan, did a fantastic job during the safari.

Wonderful place to stay prior to safari. The lodges are cute and great and the pool area is fantastic. The area in itself is not as touristy as some other areas in Sri Lanka and that reflects restaurant, the personnel, etc. However, everyone did the best they could and the food and drinks were completely fine. The safari they arranged was excellent.

Beautiful spacious safari lodges with a refreshing pool. We did the safari and it was amazing - we saw so many animals and learnt so much. We'd recommend paying for one of the official park guides - it was cheap and he was so knowledgeable. Our driver was great too and in communication with other drivers to ensure we saw lots of wildlife. Lahiru was a great host and also let me use the kitchen which was appreciated.
