Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The hosts are so friendly and helpfull. They make a wonderfull breakfast and diner.
The rooms are big and clean.
The friendly uncle was our driver and guide for a few days.
Also arrenged a good safari in Wilpattu, saw 4 leopards.

*Great value for money
Really good homestay !
You will be staying with the family, playing carrom and talking a lot with them.
I recommend cycling the free circuit they give to visit the city.
We also booked a safari to the Wilpattu national park and the owner came with us to make sure everything went perfectly.
The hotel is very modern and super well decorated. It offered a nice contrast from the other hotels and homestays that we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Both of the guys working in reception were really welcoming and hospitable, and they arranged a full-day safari to Wilpattu National Park for us. The restaurant is excellent, as is the coffee shop - they serve up an absolutely delicious cheese kottu and iced mocha!
The room we got was really nice and comfy. The service at Sapumal Lodge was also great, they helped us with everything we needed! They also serve a big tastfull breakfast. In conclusion; a great place to stay, would recomment it to everyone :)
Property is clean and tidy. Room was small but enough room with extra wardrobe area. Senpathi, the owner, was hugely helpful organising our trips to Wilpattu and the sacred city. Hugely recommend the safari company (sorry I can’t remember your name!) as they drove carefully and spotted really camouflaged animals and birds. Also massively recommend Kuma for the sacred city tour for his knowledge and outward kindness.
We had a lovely two nights stay with the family of this accommodation. They arranged a safari trip to Wilpattu National Park, which was amazing! Our hosts prepared a dinner for us, which was super delicious. It felt like home because the family was so welcoming and warm hearted. They did everything to make us feel comfortable. Thank you!
