Olkinyei Mara Tented Camp, hotel in Talek

Situated in Talek in the Narok region, Olkinyei Mara Tented Camp features accommodation with free private parking. A buffet, à la carte or continental breakfast can be enjoyed at the property.

We stayed here for 5 nights in total (3 separate bookings). Olkinyei is a great camp located in walking distance from Talek gate and close to the river. The staff are committed, helpful and pleasant. There are small animals that move around the camp, such as dik-dik, mongoose and warthog. Cool! The food was quite simple but always good. You pay for drinks yourself at good prices. The tents are great and clean and have everything you need. There is no major difference between the different types of tents, but of course the newest tents are nicer because of the lighter interior and canvas. We went on two safaris with two different guides. Our guides were very nice, knowledgeable and service minded. Thanks Jesse and Dominique! We were lucky enough to see all the animals we had hoped to see. The property should really update their platforms with pictures of the new fabulous bar/lounge as well as the new dining tables. You eat all your food outdoors in great places!

Olaloi Mara Camp, hotel in Talek

Set in Masai Mara in the Narok region, Olaloi Mara Camp offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Some units feature a seating area and/or a balcony.

We stayed here for two nights. Enjoyed every bit of it. The place was wonderful to stay. The best part of the stay is the “People”. Wilson, the manager of the property took care of us really well. The chef, who just went beyond to deliver whatever we asked. Jeremiah, for grooving to the music along with us. Jonathan, the person who drove us everywhere. The masai village, school, game drives etc. He definitely has a good taste of music. Don’t forget to ask him play his music during your visit. These guys are a vibe. We’ve had some crazy conversations, grooved to Maasai Music, enjoyed the sunset dancing together. This place has it all.

We somehow booked the Club Tent (inclusive drinks and silver service)Wow! From the moment you walk in we were treated like royalty. The accommodation / location is amazing, but what really makes it special is the staff. The food prepared by the Chef’s Joseph & Stephen rivals any top restaurant. Our “Butler!!” Rolex was on hand for our every whim!! Would just like to thank the rest of the staff Doreen, Ole, Antony ,Dowdi, Kennedy, Joseph the pool Guru and all the other guys behind the scenes that made our trip so special. This really is a magical place.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the drunken elephant. The location is great and it’s just a 5-6 min drive from the entrance to the national park. The staff was really polite and welcoming. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated. And the food was delicious as well.

Breakfast was very good as expected. Lunch/dinner had limited options, but were very good and choice was adequate. The tent was spacious enough. Staff escort for movement after dark was efficient. An added attraction was the location by the side of the river, providing beautiful scenery in the serene atmosphere.

I had a great stay at the camp. At the time, I was the only tourist staying there and the staff were very solicitous, friendly and helpful. Food was really good and, of course, the safari - organised at the spot by the camp, was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend.

We stayed in this lodge with my sister. The man at the reception was so kind - he upgraded us to the room with a view over the river and that completely changed the whole experience: being so close to hippos was absolutely wonderful. We could hear them at night even, magical! And at night we also saw elephants and giraffes coming to the river, literally at the gate of the camp - it was splendid. Excellent location for a safari in Masai Mara.

Staff were incredibly friendly, especially the girls in the restaurant. And the two cooks too. Great food and plenty of it as well. Easy to take a breakfast or a lunch with you if wanna leave for an early or a whole day safari. We made reservations for a room, but got offered a tent, which we gladly took as the room looked not as comfy as the tent (warm, small windows without insectscreens). Hippos, crocs and kingfishers in river next to lodge. Even an elephant dropped by. Definetely worth a stay.

We stayed at Mara Intrepids for a couple of nights before heading on to another lodge. Samson, our safari guide was EXCEPTIONAL. He made the start of our trip wonderful! Also, the service provided by Kenneth and team at meal times was exemplary.

We had an amazing stay at Greenwood. Price quality is excellent and I really would not have changed it for a 600 euro a night lodge! Magdy is a super nice person, gave us a free tent upgrade and helped us with everything (safari, balloon flight, rides to Nairobi). The tents are good and the whole camping looks really nice, you can relax in the hammocks, take a swim in the pool and go for a small walk to the river (where you also have amazing sunsets).

This was a fantastic place to go on safari in the Masai Mara. It was a beautiful location, surrounded by animals, many of which wandered the camp at night. The game drives were very good, lots of information given. We saw everything we wanted to see. The tents are well equipped and comfortable. We had the farthest one away from the lodge but never felt worried or scared by the animals roaming around.

At the time of our trip, we could get an all-inclusive room in AA lodge cottages for 100 $ per night, which was a value for the money choice compared to campsite offers. With this price, I would say all was good and their pictures are helpful to know what you should expect. The location is just outside of the park, with a short drive to it. They gave us packed lunches for our safari day and the day of our departure.
