Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
It’s a beautiful wooden house near inakahama. Walking distance to Yokko valley, beaches and a bus station. The town was like out of Totoro movie, serene and scenic. I’d love to stay more if I had a chance.
Babara was a very friendly host! We enjoyed speaking with her and spending time with the other guests. It's a friendly communal vibe in the house.
Also the house is a traditional 100 year old japanese wooden house, our room even had cedar wood ceilings!
Very good value for money, in a traditional rural Japanese house. Placed in a very peaceful location in the island, the lady was very nice and the lodging was great. I couldn’t afford the ryokans in my stay in Japan, so this was a good substitute, and was also the best place I stayed in in Japan
A beautiful wooden house right next to the ocean. Everything was super clean, well equiped and the host was very nice to us, helped us a lot and gave great advice about the island! The sky view from the terrace was stunning.
The lodge is absolutely beautiful and has everything one could need. The host is very friendly and gave us some very useful suggestions. The neighborhood is very green and peaceful and we enjoyed daily interactions with chickens and a very jumpy goat. We will definitely stay again if we visit Yakushima again.
Small wooden house with terrasse facing the sea. Bath outside on the terrasse so you can see the stars !
Very clean. You can park your car in front of your room. There is a sofa, and 4 beds in the house you can use.
