Traditional Japanese lodge & spacious common areas. Enjoyed the book library even though the weather was bad. Clean. Delicious food. Cheerful staff. Free morning ride to Murodo to hike around with less tourists.

The lodge is just before snow wall. Dinner & breakfast was excellent. We stayed at japanese style room, which was fun.

The location is probably fantastic but unfortunately it was totally fogged in for 2 days I was there so I did not get to experience the outdoors and ended up sitting in a mountain lodge watching Netflix. All part of travel.

This is a lodge located just a little bit below Murodo, which is famous for the snow wall (Yuki no Ōtani). breakfast and dinner is provided, you can also take lunch at the lodge with a reasonable price, which i strongly suggest it. We stay at April for the snow wall trip and not really feeling cold in the room, not even using the heater provided despite the temperature outside is about 3 Celcius. Will definitely visit again in another season!

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. A few of them were also able to speak English and Chinese! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. You can also get a wonderful view of the mountain right out of the window from your room! They also lend me snowshoe and long boots for me to walk in the snow, just right behind the lodging.

We loved the staff at the mountain lodge, and the meals were super delicious! The bathrooms were also really nice (like a Japanese sento). It was enjoyable to relax in the bath after a long day of travelling and hiking to the lodge. The views were amazing. We got to see a beautiful sunset before dinner was served. In the early morning, we were driven up to Murodo station so that we could hike up Mt Oyama!

Alpine crossing stop, easy to find. Lodge is pretty basic, and run efficiently to suit location. Meals at set times, limited access to lounge/cafe/dining hall at other times. Limited shared bathroom. OK for 1 night, but not an ideal place to stay indoors if you're planning a few nights stay. Lodge shuttle back to Murodo was helpful.

Loved our experience staying at the lodge, very authentic stay and the most beautifully kind and lovely staff! We really enjoyed being called down for meals which were always exquisitely laid out and served.
