Best house and best host ever! Zack, the host, helped us everything starting from booking a restaurant, contacting ski school and preparing everything in the house. We were surprised when we opened the fridge and found everything is well prepared. (Milk, yogurt, butter, jam, eggs, fruits, ice cream, ice and even a frozen beer glass in the fridge.) Also he prepared rice, noodles, snacks, chocolates, tea, coffee and etc. Everything mentioned is free of charge! Another thing that we like is the dish washing service, the host offer to do the dishes by just put dirty dishes in the service area and they will clean and put it back in the service area later. Although the host lives nearby and helps us a lot, we still feel private and comfortable. Thank you so much Zack, we do appreciated your action!
This house has 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 4 toilets. Very spacious! We will definitely come back! 10 out of 10! Do not hesitate to book this house!

Great lodge in the very picturesque place. The idea of accompanying it with the coffee roastery is impressive, and it provides an opportunity of having fresh specialty coffee while having your breakfast here.
The lodge has spacious shared place (where one can have some fun) on the first floor, and rooms on the second.
People who run this place are awesome and very kind, it makes you want to come here again.
loved the location. surrounded by nature and scenic beauty. Loved the conversation with the owner who also suggested nearby sightseeing places. Great guy. Restaurants, convenient stores available in 3-5km range, one just next to the lodge.
An incredible experience up in the mountains! We stayed for one night, which for us was the perfect amount to experience the onsen and traditional rooms. The hotel make travel to the remote area easy for people coming by train, and arranging a spot on their free mini bus was easy beforehand. The food was lovely, and the staff were all incredibly kind, explaining how the outside onsen work. My partner is also over 6ft, and there were yukata and slippers that worked for him - he just had to remember to duck :)!
The lodge manager is a super chill dude,despite arriving very late, he managed to cook me up a nice dinner. The lodge can be reachable via Joetsu JR if you get off at 土合駅 Doai station, and if would more than ideal if you can drive. Be wary of that the doai station has a long underground tunnel that would take you 8 minutes even if run down stairs.
Tenjin Lodge is easy to get to, has welcoming staff, and proximity to mind blowing winter terrain. It's a great value when all is considered and the meals are as delicious as their restaurant recommendations in Minakami. We had a great time and will be back!
My stay at Tenjin Lodge was very good! The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast and dinner were very good and tasty! The accommodation also had an ofuro (Japanese bath), which was pleasant.
The location was ideal, since my purpose for the trip was to go hiking, and the accommodation was located close to hiking/trekking trails.
The staff was helpful and friendly, I highly recommend this place!
Kieren was a great host, Dinner and Breakfast was great. The atmosphere of the Lodge was exactly what I was looking for. I'm for sure booking another trip and will be staying here.
