Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The view was mind blowing! Had so much luck with the weather. The lodge was amazing referring to hospitality, comfort, space and cleanliness. The hosts / staff were so courteous. Just five minutes by foot from the lodge you can find the Haha-no-Shirataki Waterfall. Beautiful and quiet. Perfect for chilling. Next time I will be there through winter time.
The lodge was beautiful and spacious. The setting was amazing in amongst the forest with Mount Fuji in the foreground. So majestic. Breakfast was brought to our lodge, so it was lovely to eat on the balcony. Very simple breakfast. We only stayed one night, but it was worth it. They do have shuttles to take you down to the town. A gorgeous place.
Such a good find. Away from the hustle of kawaguchiko with amazing surroundings ti a rustic style lodge. We walked to the caves and observatory and green line bus picks up outside the restaurant.
The place is beautiful and can see Mount Fuji. Is like a home lodging. The owner is a very friendly and nice gentleman. Feel very much at home after a long day out. Though the room is a bit dated but it is very clean and tidy.
Perfect lodge halfway up a hill, with Mt. Fuji view, huge space house (2 floors), well-equipped kitchen, floor heating, quiet and beautiful enviroment. It takes 15 mins walking, crossing a village, to the lakeside, where is far from crowds. If you climb up, it takes 40 mins to Tenku no torii. The hotel provides free pick up from train station per request, and scheduled shuttle bus to station/supermarket. We didn't drive, but did not feel any inconvenience.
The owner and staff were very nice and accomodating and the meals were reasonably priced and delicious! The lodging has a very cosy and homey feeling so it will feel like a second home.
Not to mention you will get a great view of Fuji from your room if the weather conditions are favorable.
Run by a lovely Japanese couple who doesn't speak English but tried their best to make our stay comfortable. House is right next to Lake Kawaguchi and our room has a small view if Mt Fuji which is a bonus! Place is in a remote area so make sure to return home early otherwise it is difficult to find the place in the dark.
1. View was fantastic, we could see Mount Fuji clearly from the hotel room, onsen and restaurant.
2. The breakfast was truly exceptional, I'd highly recommend it.
3. Room was clean and bright. I was worried that it was would be dark in a remote area but was pleasantly surprised about the ample lighting.
4. Private onsen had bath in balcony area with clear view of Mount Fuji. It was amazing.
5. Coin laundry was a plus, very useful.
