The place was very nice and relaxing. The hosts were very accommodating.The welcome cake was so delicious. It was a great property. A home away from home. The kids enjoyed the donkeys and the other animals in the farm.

We loved everything about this lodge. The owners were lovely, the lodge was perfect for a week away. It was clean, warm and everything we needed was available. The shower was incredible! And very comfortable bed too! Really nice welcome hamper when we arrived with local produce in and option to have breakfast if wanted. Tim and Karen gave us some great suggestions of walks and places to go in the local area. It is the perfect place for a peaceful break or holiday with beautiful scenery and nice long walks by the lake or on the fells. Lovely secure garden for the dog to enjoy and not have to be tied up like in most places we have been. We have already looked to book again for next year!

Everything we needed for our stay over Xmas. 5 minute stroll into town where there are plenty of shops, bars & restaurants. Ideally situated for numerous walks/climbs. Owners very friendly & welcoming.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Superb location and the condition of these lodges offer an incredibly luxurious feel with views in all directions of the Cumbrian countryside. There are good dog walks direct from the site and Bassenthwaite and Keswick are just a short drive away. We will be definitely booking again later this year.
Everything in the property was amazing, literally felt like home, it was amazing booking all 4 lodges for a big family gathering of around 20 guests & it was amazing for all young and old to enjoy the open space, the animals at the farm, the hot tub & sauna, couldn’t fault this place at all, thanks to the lovely Gary & Emily who were very kind throughout our stay & let us stay till lunch time on our last day despite checkout being 10am which was nice to have a bit of a lie in and leave in good time.
We booked 2 lodges for a family meet up. We were delighted with the whole weekend. The hot tub and sauna were a real treat and having the 2 lodges gave us lots of space for everyone. Very friendly welcome and the home made cakes were a treat. Lovely area with lots on the doorstep to explore. Will definitely be returning when we can :)
