Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The apartment is nicely decorated and has a good shower room. The bed was getting replaced after my stay. I didn't find the one there comfortable.
The lockbox was a bit hard to find when arriving on a dark wet night. Heating seems to be by air conditioning only and it took 24 hrs for lodge to warm up by 2 degrees.
Good pub in Kirkoswald souters Inn- great food.
The lodge was a brilliant communal space for our family and friends. We played several board games in the main lounge area during our stay and used the smaller space with the portable TV for playing wii/sega/switch games or chilling out and reading. We also were impressed at how good the WiFi was considering there was no phone signal.
The location was beautiful and excellent for the local hill walks.
it was a lovely stay at the lodge and the hosts were really helpful. couldn’t have asked for more
