It was very peaceful and quiet, the cottage was lovely but some of the kitchen items like baking tray and frying pans were rusty and greasy, and the drainer on the sink was rusted and dirty in the corners but those things can be rectified to make it better, unfortunately the same can't be said for the floorboards upstairs they were so noisy but all in all a lovely place and would go again
Set 25 km from Chatsworth House, Saints' Meadow offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Cabins were very clean and had all of the amenities that we needed for our stay. We had 4 cabins and had no issues. All details provided prior to our stay regarding finding and accessing the cabins.

friendly staff spacious room, excellent for the dogs
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The property was spacious and enough room for a couple. Good parking facility and a great rural location , away from heavy traffic and noise. There was agood number of TVs in the lodge.
Plenty options for breakfast. Food very good and quickly served.
Located near the top of a steep hill but with a bus stop near the lodge. Quite central only 5 minute walk to town centre.
Had a lovely couple of days at Sheriff Lodge. Ziz couldn't have done more to help, both before and during the stay, with really helpful recommendations about where to eat/go generally. Room was lovely and spacious with a big, comfy bed. Breakfast was also delicious, thanks!
Location is great for walking into Matlock, and it's easy to get to by car (less than w10 minute walk from the train station if coming that way).
The lodge was very clean, the heating was very comfortable. The host was knowledgeable about the whole area, and gave us a discount voucher to visit Haddon Hall, which must be seen.
Perfect as always. Our friends adored Danbury Lodge and have already asked when our next visit is.
Despite this being our third time here, we never get bored returning. If anything, we look forward to it more so.
Richard and Cath were amazing as always. Thank you for making our October stay great.
Ziz was an amazing host, her breakfasts were amazing and delicious, her homemade jams, marmalade and bread were to die for. Our stay was like staying in a 5 star hotel. We would definitely recommend Sheriff Lodge as somewhere to stay. It's located near to so many attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the town of Bakewell to name a few.
After a day spent cycling on the Tissington trail the three course meal at High Tor hotel at a discount rate for Stone Lodge guests was perfect!! Great food and just a short walk from Stone Lodge. The heavens opened and we were very happy in the bar! Lovely hotel owner and family 😊
We enjoyed our stay at this charming house, Ziz was a very helpful host, sharing her local knowledge and arranging tickets for Chatsworth House for us. Breakfasts were lovely, lots to choose from and very well presented. Sheriff Lodge is within walking distance of the town, walking back up the steep hill afterwards was a bit of a challenge!
I had a fantastic stay! I had everything I needed and the bed was so comfy. The only thing I had a problem with was the WiFi, I couldn't get on with the details and after hours of trying I tried to connect to a different network and It worked. If I'm in the area again I will definitely be giving Stone Lodge a call!
The owners went above and beyond what I expected. The bed was fabulous, not the horrible nasty, cheap nylon float aways that you get in other *Lodges and *Inn's where they replace good bedding with "Can't you just turn the heating up and cook yourself through the night?". The Cables was fabulous. 5 *
