Looking for a lodge?
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.

Breakfast was great, the staff were fantastic. The whole Estate has fascinating history and having a access to the Castle on numerous visits was handy. When the cost of entry fees and breakfasts are included the cost of lodging was good value.

We loved the quiet country setting. A beautifully decorated small house. Everything we needed was supplied with a few wee surprises. Our 3 days spent in quarry lodge were outstanding.

Room was recently refurbished, small but super bathroom and all spotlessly clean. lovely carpets, bed linen, one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever had (slept so well). Great nightcap pint of local brew beer in the bar. Breakfast was excellent, very well cooked, stayed HOT, best ingredients and the service totally charming. For the £80 I paid for the room , it was far less than I was being quoted by Premier Inn, Travelodge, etc and this was a much nicer experience, if a little quirky. And did I say breakfast was superb?

Lovely property away from the main road. Lodges are separate from the pub which makes it quiet. We had a lovely evening meal in the pub with great food and then enjoyed the included breakfast.
