Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Last minute booking due to a change in work schedule. RK and his team could not have been more welcoming and ensured they could accommodate us. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Dinner in the restaurant was superb and excellent value for money. Will be using The Forest Lodge on future business trips.
The East Wing at Rufford Park Lodge was great for everything we needed. It was a great location for a local wedding venue Hazel Gap Barn. It also had great facilities for our group who were staying we had everything we needed and the hot tub was a great addition. The bedrooms were very comfortable and there was lots of space for everyone who stayed. When we arrived everything was exceptionally clean and well looked after. We very much enjoyed our stay and would be back!
The lodge is in a private courtyard which is beautifully maintained. The rooms are all really spacious and raky comfortable. We had some contact with the owner beforehand and they were fantastic to deal with.
The Forest Lodge is perfectly situated within a very short walk of Sherwood Forest with helpful and attentive staff. We had a slight mix up with our rooms however; the landlady, once aware, was very quick to act and went above and beyond to resolve the situation with no fuss at all. The food was brilliant and we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable.
The Forest Lodge was the perfect stop over for us en route to a work meeting in Leicester. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The meal in the bar in the evening was excellent, likewise the breakfast we had. We had time to visit Sherwood Forest before we had to leave and we were able to leave our car in the car park and walk to the forest.
I had a lovely stay at the The Forest Lodge. I had dinner at the pub on both nights that I was there, and the menu had a good range of choices. Breakfast was also really good. My room was comfy and had what I needed. Even though it was by the road, it was nice and quiet. Very friendly staff that made me feel very welcome as a solo traveller.
Great little cottage just outside the centre of Edwinstowe, but within 5 minutes walking distance of pubs, COOP and local shops. Good position to walk into town and then up and into Sherwood Forest, which was only another 5 minutes walk away. We had some great pub meals in the Forest Lodge and the Great Oak. The Forest Lodge is a lovely pub with excellent staff and landlady - felt very welcomed.
