It was so peaceful. We enjoyed watching the little horses break out of the field, then break back into it. We loved the quirkyness of the horse box. Will be recommending it to family and friends.

Beautiful little Shepherds Hut - brand new so immaculate throughout and felt really cosy. The Kitchen area outside was a bit odd but worked really well. I took some bread and butter as I understood there was only a toaster and microwave available, but there was all manner of hotplates, griddles, saucepans etc. I wish I had taken some bacon and eggs and the fire pit had a neat adjustable rack you could have cooked off if you wanted an impromptu BBQ.
Stayed in mid October and the weather was reasonably good, a few light showers but we were able to sit outside around the fire pit for most of the evening, radio on, bottle of vino staring at the stars. Suited us down to the ground. If you want a small base for a couple of nights while you are out during the day, walking or sightseeing then you couldn't really ask for more.
The place, location, staff, chickens and coffee were all great!
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Lissett Lodge fully deserves this 5 star review. The accommodation is first class and very well equipped. The lodge was spotlessly clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The outside areas are peaceful and private. The welcome pack was a nice touch. The communication from Debby prior to arrival was great and although we didn’t need anything during our stay it was clear that nothing would have been too much trouble if we had asked. If you are looking for exceptional accommodation in East Sussex Lissett Lodge should be top of your list.
Lovely quiet lodge in easy driving distance of lots of English Heritage places we wanted to see. Master bedroom large and all beds very comfortable. Well laid out open plan living area. Really friendly host who kept in touch through out our stay.
A lovely welcome from our host Debby. Very comfortable lodge with ideal accommodation. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Thank you for the welcome pack.
Lovely lodge with so many thoughtful little touches. Very clean and spacious. Thoughtful welcome ‘hamper’ with milk, bread etc. We had a great 3-night stay and explored many places nearby. Battle itself is only a few-minutes’ drive away and is beautiful and definitely worth at least half a day visiting the Abbey and the local shops. We have also used Debby’s recommendations for everything meals and really enjoyed local fish and seafood.
