AMA Ecolodge was an amazing experience. There’s day & night hiking/canoeing, bird watching and so much more right on the same property. During a night excursion on the river, we were able to observe caiman, guatusas & guantas in their natural habitat. We were also allowed to feed these incredibly large PAICHE fish on the stream. It seems like they would eat anything and are an awesome sight. The lodge itself was immaculate & clean with a jacuzzi. It was extremely beautiful, peaceful and safe. There is practically no crime in Puerto Misahualli at all. The locals know each other & speak both Spanish & Quichua as they are mostly from the Quichua tribe, a peaceful and respectful people.
Our tour guide Bélgica was amazing & took us on many different excursions like rafting, sight seeing, swimming in the Napo River, Blue Lagoon… etc. She recommended many great things for us to do and even walked us into town to enjoy the many different restaurants & activities. Would recommend and I will be back!!!

The property is outside of town in a rule area, which is great. It also has a lot of facilities, including a pool in a restaurant. The staff worked very hard to address some of our dissatisfactions, and even gave us a upgraded room on our third night, which was the first night that they could accommodate that. They provided us with a wonderful referral to a tour company that was fantastic, providing us with Private Tours into Private lands. Check out AMA tours

Loved my stay at Cabañas Awana! Raul is a really kind and easy going host and was happy to share his culture and community with me. The cabana is simple, relaxing and surrounded by nature. It’s in a great location near walking trails, the community’s river, and a small store with water and some snacks.
As a female traveling solo, I felt completely safe and was happy that the host can speak English for any questions I had about the area. I highly recommend staying here and enjoying the nature experiencing the community and culture!
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.

Charming lodging in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Rooms were quiet and comfortable for us. Linens and facilities were clean. My husband appreciated the AC and fans. Teen children were happy to have internet in our downtime and I was enamored with the plants and the wood paned windows. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was healthy and delicious. Lodge is far enough away from town to feel private and still, yet close enough to go eat and get supplies as needed. Would certainly come back.
We absolutely loved our stay at Rio Napo Lodge. I guess we went out of season (November) but it was still surprising that we seemed to be the only guests. We had the use of the wonderful pool to ourselves, which was nice. But the resort deserves better. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was how we wanted it. At the time of our visit, the bridge to Puerto Misahualli was still out but for a minimal sum (about a dollar) you could take a boat across to town, which was much more fun than driving anyway.
Community run lodge. Basic but fantastic for the price. Super location. Loved the terrace and firepit for the evening. Good breakfast. Don't stay in a hostel, come here.
The location is very good, since the lodge is located next to the Misahualli River, with direct access from the property to the river. It is less than 1 km from the property to the center of Misahualli (you can leave the car park at the lodge and comfortably walk to the center)
The attention is personalized and very good!. The cleanliness and space in the rooms are OK. There is also a cafeteria with a fridge, kitchen and everything you need. The gardens are very beautiful!
The location was beautiful. In the morning the air was filled with bird singing.
Our first floor room was specious, clean and had aircon.
The lodge's manager spoke very good English, which was a bonus, as none of us could speak Spanish.
The Napo river boat trip arranged by the lodge's manager was amazing.
It is a nice and clean lodge. We were only two people in the lodge for one night (plus hotel personnel - 1 and the dog). It was nice but very unusual.
Internet works only in the lobby.
Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious.
Beautiful place and lodge just by the river and close to the village. Very useful to have a kitchen and tables for the guests, we could have dinner there. The owners provide a lot of information about tours and places to visit.
This place was magical! It was truly the lodge of my
dreams. I’ve travelled a lot - 50 + countries and this
might be one of my favourite stays ever. It’s this little
tropical oasis with a gorgeous pool, fantastic staff,
great food, massages available on site, gorgeous
bungalows. It was the best value compared to the
similar lodges that were $800/night. Would highly
recommend!
