The location was amazing, up in the rainforests - this could have been made much clearer in the information for the hotel. While certainly not a disappointment, it was a surprise. The staff were lovely, and attentive, and the live music was an unexpected bonus.

Esmeralda, the hostess, was absolutely amazing and made sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. A heads-up: being so close to nature means you’ll encounter some fascinating creatures and hear all kinds of sounds at night. We loved it—it really enhanced the adventure and connection to the surroundings.

Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Samo Eco Lodge was a beautiful stay, with great host! The room was clean and very comfortable. Beautifully set in the mountains, waking up and going to sleep listening to the sounds of nature. Just be aware it is 15ish minutes drive from town, (which is lovely but could be inconvenient for others) The host gave me a moto taxi number though and then was kind enough to take me into town and help me rent a scooter for my stay :) Overall, a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
Fantastic location, very peaceful. Very friendly staff. Beautiful food and drinks in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Great to hear about the work being done to make the lodge even more sustainable and eco friendly. Lots of useful local knowledge shared for great beaches/restaurants to visit in the local area. A great place to stay!
'Clave Verde Ecolodge' is a place that invites you to linger. Even the first greeting is very warm, the whole environment can be described as family and you feel that you have arrived.
The restaurant kitchen conjures up wonderful delicacies and the background music is evidence of exquisite taste - a well-rounded affair.
Of course, the view is breathtaking and it was difficult for us to say goodbye.
We say thank you to the whole lodge crew for this unfortunately short but unforgettable stay!
