What an amazing place ! The best I've been for the all trip. The bedroom is comfortable and clean, nature is everywhere and the owners are soooo kind. They will cook you a dinner you won't forget ! Better than a restaurant I tell you 😉 And keep eyes open for hummingbirds.

Super comfy beds and great breakfast served by a friendly team. Good value for an overnight stay travelling from west to east coast, but wouldn’t want to stay longer.

We had two cabins, one for our teenagers and one for us. Both were wonderfully spacious and comfortable with balconies overlooking the garden and river. It was cold at night but the beds had thick duvets and extra blankets were provided. This is such a beautiful place, with a balcony where they feed the hummingbirds and numerous other birds - you could sit there for hours watching them. The breakfast was delicious. It is owned by a family and they were all super friendly. We recommend getting up early to do the quetzal tour. They have obviously put a lot of effort into making this a fabulous place. We stayed an extra night as we loved it so much.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Our cabin was recently renovated and so comfortable ! The deck outside the room was private and the view was absolutely incredible. The food from the lodge was fairly priced and very tasty. We loved our guide for the Quetzal tour. He was very knowledgeable and works so hard to find us 5 gorgeous quetzals
We delighted in our time at Paraiso Quetzal Lodge - the view, hummingbird garden, wood-burning fireplace, and peaceful grounds all surpassed our expectations. And all for such an affordable price! We will be returning to the Lodge next time we are back in Costa Rica!
Nice restaurant, beautiful garden with hummingbirds amongst many other beautiful birds. Beautiful surroundings. Lodge had nice heaters and a lot of blankets to bury yourself in, it can get quite cold in this area of Costa Rica. With a Little help we were able to capture the Quetzal on camera
The place was comfortable and the views were fantastic. The trails are a great addition to the lodge, and the fire in the main building is good for warmth! The heater and blankets in the room, too, made for a comfortable sleep. Hummingbirds accompany the breakfast views, too!
This accommodation has excellent views from the rooms, when the clouds lift.
We stayed in one of the new lodges which had recently been constructed.
The Hummingbird garden is an excellent addition to the reception/restaurant area.
Wonderful setting at 2700m, cool and crisp. The main lodge was very cosy with an open fire, staff very friendly and welcoming. Birds everywhere, quite magical. Food very good.
Lovely lodge in a very beautiful garden!
The garden is definitely the best feature of this hotel, it is stunning.
The only reason I didn’t rate it higher is because my husband is tall and this lodge was a bit of a challenge for him 😂
He didn’t fit in the shower because of the sloping roof haha but it was only for one night so it was fine. But be aware of this when you are tall. my husband is 1.98m.
The floor was also a bit off but the staff was really nice and breakfast was great and they have a hummingbird garden 🥰
Dinner was alright.
We ate in the restaurant both evenings and for breakfast and the food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The lodges were clean and comfortable, with plenty of blankets and heating. And if course the views were wonderful.
