It's been 3 weeks and we're still dreaming of @nicuesalodge our final stop in Costa Rica 🇨🇷
This place was so magical. From the moment we arrived (by boat) to this protected paradise we were welcomed by name and were in awe.
🌴
The staff, (all 25 to 20 guests!) get to know everyone and from our favourite server and cocktail maker, Kimberley to the tour guides, and maintenance were so friendly. That's the tico way 🙂 ❤️
The lodge itself is IN the raiforest, which seas and national park are protected. We even went to the Golfo Dulce to see wild dolphins, one of the worlds 4 tropical fjords!

We left with smiles and full hearts, and it really felt like an honour to be part of this special place.
Thank you, you define Pura Vida 🌿

The setting was wonderful. The staff were very kind & helpful. It is a fantastic place. Accommodation was basic but very clean. Understandable considering the location. Fantastic bird sightings. Really loved our walks with Kevin, he was so knowledgeable & helped me get some fantastic photographs. I would recommend staying here definitely if you love nature.

Incredible location, and great combination of both forest and marine in one place. Beautiful tropical gardens on the property complete with macaws and monkeys, and great guided excursions into rainforest, mangrove, and marine habitats. You are staying in a jungle so be prepared re: bugs, temperature and humidity. As a solo traveller it was super welcoming and friendly, and you feel at home quite quickly. As well as the activities it was also great just to chill out around the gardens or by the beach, or to just take a kayak and explore.
The food was also amazing and a highlight for me, lots of fruit and veg grown on site, fresh fish if it was caught that day etc.
Offering an outdoor swimming pool, Kalea Yard Hotel is located in Puerto Jiménez. Free WiFi access and free private parking are available in this tropical lodge.

The place is beautifully cared for, with a variety of lodging options each set apart from the others. The lidge is a few steps away from the far end of a peaceful and calm beach so generally one is alone there. Also in walking distance of a nice beachfront restaurant/bar. The owner Tomas is very friendly and helpful, as is his assistant Julia. They let me bring my dog! I actually spent 3 nights there, not 1. I will recommend it to friends

The location is good. But the lodge relies too heavily on its position and seems to feel that the location is enough to justify the lack of basic facilities.

Being in the middle of nature on a tree house was amazing, we could see and hear the birds and other animals around, the house was super confortable and we had everything we needed or more.
Gilly was more than kind and helpful, we absolutely loved our stay here.

Silvina is so sweet and she cares so much about creating a special experience for guests. Four Monkeys is relatively new, so the rooms are super clean, and the mattresses and very comfy. It's definitely a step above glamping (feels more like a hotel room than a tent) but still open-air. Sunrises from the room are amazing. I really recommend it for nature lovers.
We did an amazing tour with corcovadotours.com and they picked us up right at Four Monkeys. The beach is basically private and great for a swim once (just be careful with the rocks). There are also two clean breaks for surfing on either side of the lodge here and boards for rent.
Silvina is doing a lot of work to actively improve the space and is eager to help make her guests' experience memorable. She made a delicious breakfast for us too w/ eggs and fresh fruit from the garden.
I will definitely come back when in Osa again.
Oh yea and the doggies on premise are awesome.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
There was no breakfast but there are places just down the road. It is a lodge, so its simple and basic, no AC, no hot water but that is what I expected. The gardens and local fauna are amazing.
Since it wasn’t our first visit to his lodge, we knew him (the owner) and the area around it already. The fact that we have been here 3 times, should speak for itself. The rooms are modest and the nature around it, is unbelievable. Breakfast with monkeys and Tucans will be unforgettable.
The owner is very forthcoming, he even took the time to help us with our car troubles.
Situated in the middle of the rainforest, the Purruja Lodge offers a nice, green space to relax and watch the wildlife. The stuff was friendly and uncomplicated. We asked for breakfast at arrival and it was really nice and also cheap.
