Our 2nd visit and we extended it further once we got there. The staff are brilliant (and helped me with improving my Spanish) and the place is unique. We like the Canta Rana bungalow best as it has a lagoon around it, but they are all privately located in the jungle. The dinner deal is great value and good food. There are trails to walk and animals and birds all around. One of our favourite places and we've travelled to over 60 countries. Thanks Merlin and team.

Finca Kobo is beautifully located in the nature. In the morning we walked around the finca and encountered many monkeys. Staff very nice. Would definitely recommend and come back next time.

This is the place for true nature lovers, those who want to explore the jungle in almost complete solitude, with a guide who was born and raised there.
You need to work for it, a long journey and some 45 km dirtroad, might have to cross a rives in rainy season. You will sleep in cabins in the green, no window just bug protection and a cold shower outside, and you will wake up with nature.
The darkish beach is incredibly beautiful, just as the pure jungle all around. We started here, and it reduced other parks to an amusement park experience. Don’t go there for any luxury, be willing to get tired and dirty clothes, and you will get an unforgettable nature exploration under guidance of a most friendly, relaxed and very knowledgeable owner and guide. An absolute highlight in our Costa Rica journey.
With mountain views, Amazonita Ecolodge is situated in Dos Brazos and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden and terrace. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free...

Whilst we all loved the experience of staying here and wouldnt change it, it was not what we expected in terms of accommodation and we wouldnt re-book. The experience of the jungle was priceless and we loved the jungle living but the accommodation was not as it is advertised and the people "looking after us" were (whilst very nice) a bunch of young lads because the owner was away.

Silvina is so sweet and she cares so much about creating a special experience for guests. Four Monkeys is relatively new, so the rooms are super clean, and the mattresses and very comfy. It's definitely a step above glamping (feels more like a hotel room than a tent) but still open-air. Sunrises from the room are amazing. I really recommend it for nature lovers.
We did an amazing tour with corcovadotours.com and they picked us up right at Four Monkeys. The beach is basically private and great for a swim once (just be careful with the rocks). There are also two clean breaks for surfing on either side of the lodge here and boards for rent.
Silvina is doing a lot of work to actively improve the space and is eager to help make her guests' experience memorable. She made a delicious breakfast for us too w/ eggs and fresh fruit from the garden.
I will definitely come back when in Osa again.
Oh yea and the doggies on premise are awesome.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
My wife loves Playa Carate, and enjoyed her time at this lodge. (I went along as good hubbie, as nature is not my thing, so these are her views). The cabin we had was rustic but spacious, set in the rain forest and with a great view. 3 types of monkey could be seen, and she reports the birding was very good. We stayed 3 nights, and went to the same spot on the beach each day. Carate is definitely the place to see macaws. My wife also loves its remoteness and isolation.
The location is fabulous, you're literally in the forest with a view of the sea. You can't help but admire the effort that must have gone into building in such a remote location, a 2-hour drive from the nearest town. The owner of the Lodge, who initiated this extraordinary project, comes to discuss the project every evening.
Beautiful pool
Excellent service
Excellent restaurant, attentive to every need
Luna Lodge is a beautiful place with an amazing staff. The lodge has a comfortable environment centered around a pool and restaurant/common area that sit comfortably in the forest. Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, and monkeys are frequent visitors and easily viewed.
Great meals with vegetarian/ non-vegetarian options are included with many ingredients grown on site.
We spent 5 days over the Christmas holidays and it was the highlight of our time in Costa Rica.
Our stay in Luna Lodge was absolutely the highlight of our trip.
Everything I imagined and more.
Thank you to all for this unique experience.
Thank you Old OSA for accompanying us to the forest…
We had a great time at La Leona Lodge. Felipe is a great helpful Organizer and also the complete staff make a great job. The Food was very delicious. Also the staff at the office in Puerto Jimenez is very friendly and make everything for the guests.
Very nice setting directly on the beach, very friendly staff, loved the variety in meals, relaxing sound with the waves, private outdoor showers, easy arrangements for guided trips at day or at night, great to encounter the service of bringing our luggage from Carate to the lodge as it is a 3.5km walk on the beach. Good starting point to go into Corcovado NP.
This was an absolutely fabulous eco lodge. Everything that you asked for was provided. In addition, the owner is an expert on natural health and healing and shares her interest with any guest who is interested. For example, she opened her home for a "sound healing" performance while I was there. Massages were excellent too. Food was delicious--very fresh. Mainly vegetarian at lunch but dinners had meat or fish available. Full bar, lovely pool, nice places to lounge and relax.
Staff was great and catered to our every request with a smile on their face. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was included with dinner being a buffet. They can also make drinks on order.
Guides were amazing and tried very hard to show us wildlife even our driver showed us wildlife once he knew that we were interested in wildlife..
Owner of the lodge is very friendly and showed us her house.
Brilliant location, amazing wildlife, beautiful grounds. The photos really don't do this place justice, and due to where the lodges are placed there is no need for Air conditioning.
