Danta Corcovado Lodge, hotel in Carate

Danta Corcovado Lodge offers its guests a library, Wi-Fi access in public areas free of charge and extensive gardens. Tea and coffee services are available from 06:00 to 22:00 hours.

I have mixed feelings about this lodge, the estate is stunning with beautiful walking trails and canopy towers for watching wildlife. Staying in open bungalows definitely has its charms, but also comes with some disadvantages.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff. Amanda and Braulio always went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable, welcoming and a good experience. The free breakfast and coffee every morning was beautiful and dinner every night was incredible some of the best food we’ve had in Costa Rica thanks to the amazing chef on site. Braulio made amazing cocktails and even can make any you request that aren’t on the menu. We also got to try Amanda’s famous coconut mango dessert which was out of this world. The room was super clean and comfortable and the property was well maintained. Could not fault our stay. Thanks for having us, we will be back.

Corcovado Beach Lodge, hotel in Carate

Featuring free WiFi, Corcovado Beach Lodge offers eco-friendly accommodation in Puerto Jiménez. Free private parking is available on site.

We enjoyed a super location, right on the beach yet slightly secluded. Within a few minutes' walk, you're in the village. The huts come with integrated bathrooms and offer a nice view of the garden and the sea. In the mornings, you can hear the howler monkeys, but otherwise, it's very peaceful (we visited during the off-season). The owner (or staff?) was always there and is very attentive

Amazonita Ecolodge, hotel in Carate

Amazonita Ecolodge is situated in Dos Brazos in the heart of the Jungle, 16 km from Puerto Jimenez. Free private parking is available on site. All units feature a seating area.

Whilst we all loved the experience of staying here and wouldnt change it, it was not what we expected in terms of accommodation and we wouldnt re-book. The experience of the jungle was priceless and we loved the jungle living but the accommodation was not as it is advertised and the people "looking after us" were (whilst very nice) a bunch of young lads because the owner was away.

Simple, really like camping in the jungle. Great location for what we wanted between jungle & beach. Very very helpful host, brilliant communication! My wife loves Playa Carate, and enjoyed her time at this lodge. (I went along as good hubbie, as nature is not my thing, so these are her views). The cabin we had was rustic but spacious, set in the rain forest and with a great view. 3 types of monkey could be seen, and she reports the birding was very good. We stayed 3 nights, and went to the same spot on the beach each day. Carate is definitely the place to see macaws. My wife also loves its remoteness and isolation.

The location is fabulous, you're literally in the forest with a view of the sea. You can't help but admire the effort that must have gone into building in such a remote location, a 2-hour drive from the nearest town. The owner of the Lodge, who initiated this extraordinary project, comes to discuss the project every evening. Beautiful pool Excellent service Excellent restaurant, attentive to every need

Luna Lodge is a beautiful place with an amazing staff. The lodge has a comfortable environment centered around a pool and restaurant/common area that sit comfortably in the forest. Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, and monkeys are frequent visitors and easily viewed. Great meals with vegetarian/ non-vegetarian options are included with many ingredients grown on site. We spent 5 days over the Christmas holidays and it was the highlight of our time in Costa Rica.

Very nice setting directly on the beach, very friendly staff, loved the variety in meals, relaxing sound with the waves, private outdoor showers, easy arrangements for guided trips at day or at night, great to encounter the service of bringing our luggage from Carate to the lodge as it is a 3.5km walk on the beach. Good starting point to go into Corcovado NP.

This was an absolutely fabulous eco lodge. Everything that you asked for was provided. In addition, the owner is an expert on natural health and healing and shares her interest with any guest who is interested. For example, she opened her home for a "sound healing" performance while I was there. Massages were excellent too. Food was delicious--very fresh. Mainly vegetarian at lunch but dinners had meat or fish available. Full bar, lovely pool, nice places to lounge and relax.

Staff was great and catered to our every request with a smile on their face. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was included with dinner being a buffet. They can also make drinks on order. Guides were amazing and tried very hard to show us wildlife even our driver showed us wildlife once he knew that we were interested in wildlife.. Owner of the lodge is very friendly and showed us her house.

Brilliant location, amazing wildlife, beautiful grounds. The photos really don't do this place justice, and due to where the lodges are placed there is no need for Air conditioning.
