Unfortunately I was travelling for work and had a job in Yungaburra, so really just booked this as a place not far from town and which sounded pleasant. I didn't get in till 5pm and had to leave again before dawn, but saw enough to be very impressed. The Reception lady was lovely, the apartment clean, well-appointed and warm for the time of year I visited. What most impressed me, and one of my jobs is filming wildlife and landscapes for a living, was the sound as I left the room in the morning surrounded by rainforest. Forget the room, you would pay the money to just sit listening to the incredible cacophany of native birds echoing through the bush. I wish I could post the phone video here. Had 5 minutes before I had to leave for work, but I'll be back with my wife for that reason alone.

Sharlynn by the River is in a beautiful and peaceful setting and sitting outside on the private verandah was an absolute treat. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. The provided breakfast food was excellent and plentiful - we had more than enough for our two breakfasts. Pam and John were very welcoming hosts as was Charlie.

Super nice treehouse, excellent view on the Dschungel and very friendly owners…
Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
We liked everything about kookaburra lodge. Very quiet beautiful gardens, very clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, wish we could of stayed longer
Everything! The host is wonderful, she’s lovely and helpful. The lodge is so well stocked. It has a cosy fire, beautiful dining area and lounge areas inside and out. The kitchen is brilliantly stocked. We loved the puzzles and games. The rooms are comfy and the bathrooms were impeccable. The area is wonderful for seeing duck-billed platypuses and tree kangaroos.
Really nice lodge the location is perfect and the space is amazing. There is a back garden with aromatic plants and all of the common areas are really well maintained and clean
Perfect! Our hosts were lovely and informative of the local area. It was the most peaceful beautiful accomodation I have stayed. The village is walking distance from Williams Lodge and the cafe and shops are run by lovely staff, I highly recommend a visit to Williams Lodge, you will not be disappointed.
Williams Lodge is a beautiful, historic building. It is set in a lovely garden in a charming village. The room had lots of thoughtful touches such as complimentary chocolates. Gina was a great host - very helpful but not intrusive. The perfect place for a reviving retreat.
It was my first time in Atherton so I didn't know much at all and where I could stay with my family. But when I booked my room for the night at the wallaby the boss Paul was so nice also he was so helpful, Paul is a very caring person to me and my family also to everyone around the wallaby lodge. Paul is a very happy person, me and my family ended up staying a bit longer.
