Looking for a lodge?
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.

All staff lodge were abundantly welcoming and accommodating all reasonable requests. It’s great to have good well priced food easily accessible. The cabins are clean, well maintained, don’t worry about getting cold-the heaters are amazing. Then you go outside, this is the best kept secret in Tasmania. We wish this lodge all the best because we will be back. And…the visitors centre is right next door. Both the lodge and visitors have all the gifts to take home. Thanks everyone for making our short stay amazing. John & S.

The wilderness location was superb. The lodge room was spacious and the bedding was very comfortable and warm. The toiletries provided were also first class.

Great bushland setting next to Lake St Clair - excellent facilities which met all our basic needs; had a delightful evening meal in the Lodge's restaurant which was a short 5 minute walk from our cabin. Staff were friendly and there was an abundance of wildlife. Be sure to take a torch for your night-time excursions. The complex includes a very good Information Centre.

The cabins are amazing, the beds super comfy. We heard from friends that there wasnt much of a kitchen so they couldn’t cook a meal, but ours had a 2pit stove so we could cook a basic meal. We also heard the restaurant was rather pricey and not that great, so we went to the Derwent Bridge Hotel on our second night for dinner and had fantastic meals and a great time. The breakfast buffet at the Lodges were good and a great way to start your day before heading onto the walks. The location is amazing, what a great getaway.
