One of South Africa's must visit country hotels. Whenever I can (and can afford it), I stay over at this lovely hotel in Graaff-Reinet - summer or winter. Be sure to explore the buildings and try the cigar lounge, which has an excellent collection of books. The restaurant is excellent, at times they have wines in the cellar that are hard to source elsewhere (apart from Franschhoek). Small art gallery and wine shop attached to the hotel. Other nice little restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.
Set in Graaff-Reinet, The Whyte House features air-conditioned rooms. Among the various facilities are a garden, a terrace, as well as a shared lounge, with a TV.

Lovely old farmhouse charm, and Rob and his wife were great hosts. Friendly staff who served up a great breakfast. Highly recommend!!

We arrived much later than anticipated. The Host was responsive and available and even met us in the dark to hand the keys over to us.
The host thought of every little detail - peaceful night spray, emergency lights charged and ready to go if needed, a carton of fresh milk for coffee, an honor bar with an assortment of beverages for the road weary traveler, a well stocked kitchen with every untensil and dish one would need; fresh fluffy white towels in abundance, comfy duvets and extra blankets in a basket; a container of wood for the fireplace, along with quick start blocks, as well as an outdoor braai ready to go including nice kindling. I travel alot and have stayed in many places all over the world - this Host and accomodation is the BEST I'VE EVER STAYED IN! We felt so fortunate to have found Cats Whiskers!
Spandau Manor is a recently renovated apartment in Graaff-Reinet where guests can make the most of its outdoor swimming pool, garden, and barbecue facilities. A hot tub is available for guests.

Spandau Manor is a place not far from the main square so it was easy to find. We were contacted by the host shortly after making booking and were provided with contact details and all information regarding how to get to the property. Rooms were very clean with extra blankets for cold nights and TV had from Netflix, Disney, Showmax... many channels we could choose from. Host family was very friendly and helpful. Hope to be able to stay there during the future visits again.
