The friendliness of the staff, the local food we had for dinner but mostly the location: the garden of the property is separated from the Kruger National Park only by a river: we could see elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffalos and other animals while sipping a glass of wine.

Jeremy is a fantastic host and made sure we were looked after extremely well. The staff preparing the breakfast are so courteous. I have to make special mention of Mirriam, who prepares the most wonderful omelets and Eggs Benedict! She is an absolute gem!

After spending two full days of safaris in Kruger National Park, it was the right place to enjoy a good sleep and relax before moving to the next phase of our South African trip.
Owners were not at the property, but communication was excellent both before and during the stay.

Excellent gate to enter Kruger Park. Nice places to stay should you need to outside the park. Can get out of the car on the bridge . Ensure car is locked before going into the reception and valuables not seen.

The lodge is clean and safe, very close to Malelane gate which is very practical to go for a safari. The room was spacious and comfy. The breakfast is good and you have a lot of choices. The view from the terrace is amazing, you can see hippo, an impala etc. Shout out to the staff who were very kind and attentive. You can also go for a safari with the hotel for 70€.
I definitely recommend it.
Perfect location, 10min from Malelane gate, 5 min from local shops, with wildlife on your door step. Most beautiful sunsets from the "stoep". We loved every minute there. Rose and Faith made our stay super special with amazing breakfast every morning. The villa was full equipped with everything you might need. Big garden and lovely swimming pool for the kids to cool off, after a long hot day, searching for the animals. Can't wait to go back!
Staff is always friendly and helpful. The apartment is clean and spacious .Tea and Coffee stations with daily cookies is a great spoil. Daily water bottles in the fridge is a plus point. The Sugar Train Restaurant food is the best.Lodge is close to the Malelane Gate to enter the Kruger National Park.
Big room with a bath and shower. Fridge and TV in room and seating outside for own room. Lovely garden, which was quiet and relaxing. Swimming pool available, although I didn't use it.
If concerned about safety, the accommodation is in a gated community. Easy access to Kruger NP via Malelane Gate and the town for food and drinks if wanted.
Located very near to Malelane Gate entrance to Kruger Park and close to a shopping centre with a huge supermarket where you can grab something to eat.
We ate dinner once at the hotel (we were the only guests!) and the steak was wonderful.
Beds were extremely comfortable and the sunset from the bedroom was stunning.
We loved our stay at River House Lodge. All the staff was great, super available and kind. They took care of scheduling the game drives for us, which was incredibly helpful. The food at dinner was great!
The viewing deck is beautiful, and the hotel is very close to Malelane Gate.

The hosts are great and very welcoming. The apartment is situated in a very safe neighborhood and is perfectly located near to the Malelane Gate of Kruger - so perfect for an early game drive.
