The design of the hotel is really quirky and offers a unique stay in what was an old boat shed. The loft style rooms are spacious and as a family, gave us more than enough room to store luggage etc.
The location on Thesen Island is an ideal base to explore the surrounding area and a short walk across the nearby bridge takes you in the heart of Knysna. We ate The Nest restaurant, located within the hotel. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and provided us with blankets when the sun had set. It’s a beautiful little spot, overlooking the lagoon and is perfect for sundowners and dinners. The onsite bakery is also really good, particularly their pastries.
It was a nice touch having a little lounge fridge where you could help yourself to ice cold beer and water. The free kayak rental is also a bonus, although we ran out of time on this trip.

Laguna Grove 14 was a great stay for our family. Urs provided good communication and instructions on getting into the complex and into the apartment. Great location a few minutes walk from the Knysna Waterfront Shops, walking distance to cafes, a bakery and restaurants. Beautiful view of the water. Heaters in all the rooms was great since there was cold windy weather while we were there. The Laguna Grove complex felt very secure with good gates and security. Covered parking in front of the unit was nice.
Great hotel very nearby the Knysna waterfront, only a short walk down the road. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast had great variety and was tasty. The pool and bar area was also great to have as an option if you didn’t want to leave the hotel. Highly recommend.
A luxurious and peaceful place for relaxation in 15 minutes drive from Knysna Waterfront. Rooms are really spacious, you also have a balcony or a private garden with a private hot tub. Yes, your own hot tub in your garden!:) Since it is the golf club’s hotel, you can walk around beautiful golf courses (if you’re not a player)
Location was perfect, walkable distance from most of the main activities I done in and around Grey Street and Knysna Waterfront. I'd return to this guest house just because the location is perfect. I also liked the old antique feel of the house, with the wooden floors inside and outside. Bar fridge and kettle in room was great and convenient.
