Rosebank is very nice, but unfortunately crime in the area is reportedly increasing. Generally, Joburg is not a place I would stay predominantly because of the crime and poor state of municipal management of the city.

I like Johannesburg very much. There are lots of excellent restaurants, Great shopping malls, High quality night life, beautiful parks and many more entertainment for all kinds, family or solo traveller. One has to overlook and be careful of unruly drivers in many areas and the fact that the streets are littered

I think the infrastructure is not optimum and there needs to be some improvement in the roads. For business it works okay but for a destination I would not add Johannesburg to my bucket list. I would reach further out into the surrounding areas for the African experience.

Johannesburg is a very pleasant city for entertainment, business, leasure. Single, couple, family it fits all as long as you stay on nice neighborhoods.
I recommend Rosebank, Fourways, Sandton City and there are more to name, but these are my fav.

I just had time to visit the Nelson Mandela square and the Apartheid museum. The museum is absolutely worth it!!!
I also did a safari at Pilanesberg park with Mo Africa and it was incredible. The guide was fantastic and we saw many many animals.
I hope I have had time to see Soweto.
The Mint Hotel is absolutely beautiful and modern. If you are looking for luxury at a cheap price then this is the place to go. The staff is super friendly and so accommodating. This hotel could easily pass as a 5 star hotel if only they had a real pool and more facilities . Otherwise, everything else was top notch. I am highly impressed. I was even given a free upgrade to the executive rooms which was such a lovely surprise. I am definitely coming back!
The hotel was the best choice during my vacation in South Africa. The complex is beautiful, the rooms are nicely furnished with view of the garden and pool. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was lovely too. In addition, the staff was particularly nice and attentive. I should have stayed longer.
I stayed at the Presidential Penthouse. It was everything and more. The service was great. On arrival I was handed a glass of wine and a rose. The staff were very attentive. I had dinner as well as breakfast. The facilities were readily available and accessible. This is now my go to Hotel when I visit South Africa.
The hotel was very good and the chefs were very polite, save you had one waiter in the restaurant who had this typical South African black folks attitude of looking down upon people. If you can fix this all is well. Unfortunately I can't give you more details about her as I do not want you to fire her.
Breakfast was great, very friendly chef. The view from our room was amazing, right over the Sandton CBD. It was easy to get around the area due to the centrality of the hotel. Overall we had a lovely time.
