Architecture, culture, people and on week end festivals. Hoan Kiem lake has it all. A stroll around the lake and you go from old town to French quarter to temples. Mornings you’ll see the locals out early doing their daily exercise and at night catch a dance or two. The markets come alive in the streets at night. And of course a visit to beer street is a must. Sit above the big road about in highland coffee shop and watch the motorbikes or across the road is loveletter cafe. Here you can write ✍️ a love ❤️ letter to your loved one and post it on the walls ceiling chairs.

If you can, go there on the weekends.
If you can, go there on the weekends. The few major streets in the area are closed to traffic and are taken over by pedestrians and kids on motorized vehicles. It is a “hunting ground” for students learning English. On one walk around the lake, we were approached by se real groups of kids asking to practice English. They all have these sheets of paper with set of question that they ask you. Quite often they come with the teacher who will approach you first.

The hotel is a boutique hotel in the central of Hanoi, with only a few steps to the Hoan Kiem Lake. There is not much to say about the facilities but we were greatly impressed by how friendly and helpful the staffs are. Everyone from reception, concierge and kitchen/restaurant staff are super nice and kind. We travel with 2 kids and they remember my kids by their names and were super kind to them. Appreciate that they went extra miles to help us feel comfortable during our stay. We will be back.
Beautiful hotel in convenient but quiet location -- a short stroll fo Hoan Kiem lake and surrounded with cafes and restaurants. The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable, Very good breakfast with both a-la-carte and buffet. We really enjoyed Hanoi city view from the rooftop bar, which provided fabulous drinks and delicious food from the hotel's restaurant. The staff was exceptionally helpful and courteous.

This hotel is excellent value for money. The location in central Hanoi, a few hundred yards from Hoan Kiem Lake, could not be better. The staff, especially Grace, the extraordinarily competent and helpful sales manager, was superb, and exceeded my expectations. Breakfast, right across the street, was fine.
The Hanoi Lheritage Hotel is a short walk to the Old Quarter, French Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. It is conveniently located near many shops, cafes, restaurants and street eateries. The bedroom is spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet offers many local, Asian and western delicious food options to choose from. The dining staff is very attentive in their personal service. The hotel staff all offer excellent service during our stay.
This is a comfortable, clean and well managed hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Our rooms had a lovely view of Hoan Kiem Lake and the hotel’s location made it easy to walk to many attractions. The daily breakfast and tea time were much appreciated by our multi generational group of family members. The staff were always so kind and helpful, and their recommendations were always spot on. Our first time trip to Hanoi was enhanced by our stay at Le Premiere.
My stay at the Opera Hostel was unforgettable! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They greeted me with big smiles and made me feel right at home. The facilities are on standard for casual use and well-kept. As for the location, it is situated perfectly in the French Quarter, just steps away from the iconic Hanoi Opera House and Hoan Kiem Lake, it was really convenient to walk around the famous Trang Tien street. Overall, the Opera Hostel is definitely at the top of my list for my next time in Hanoi.

The location is amazing, right off Hoan Kiem lake in the square, but tucked off the main strip so it is pretty quiet. Great rooftop breakfast spot and speakeasy like bar in the basement. The best part of the hotel is that the staff is amazing. Super helpful, goes above and beyond to help us with transportation to other parts of Vietnam and book or recommend dinner spots as well. 10/10 would recommend.
