Hotel Zephyr San Francisco, hotel in San Francisco

Offering a fitness centre, Hotel Zephyr San Francisco is located a short 300 metres from Pier 39 Fisherman's Wharf.

Perfect location. Quick check-in and out. Online check-in is available. Parking available on site. However no breakfast offered, there is a breakfast place right next to it ( IHOP). Great (seafood) restaurants nereby. There is a big area for chill out and play table tennis and such. I recomand it for a few day visit.

The Pickwick Hotel San Francisco, hotel in San Francisco

Just 2 minutes' walk from Westfield Shopping Centre, this Central San Francisco hotel features a restaurant and bar. It offers traditional guest rooms with free WiFi and cable TV.

The Hotel is geographicly very good located, close to cable car and union square (shoping) However it is also close to (almost in) Tenderloin which is an extremely bad area. There are lot of homeless people on the street outside the hotel, but this is the way San Francisco obviously wants their city to be, so it is the same almost every where... I never felt that the area was unsecure, so location must be considered to be good.

FAQs about hotels in San Francisco

An Icon of Liberalism

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.

Surrounded on 3 sides by water, it is spread over steep hills that make for great photo opportunities. None better than the zig-zag Lombard Street seen in many a film. Other movie stars are the streetcars plying the hill climbs – a little touristy, but still worth trying.

In the middle of the bay is Alcatraz island, famed for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t fancy going inside, the views towards the bridge and city are unparalleled.

Nowhere in San Francisco is life more laidback than on the Pacific beaches. Hire a bike and head out there via the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The clam chowder served in (yes, actually in!) bread is a delight. Chinatown also has a great selection of good value restaurants.

As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want to stay in apartments along those lines, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something to suit. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here.

This has been my most favorite domestic destination since...

This has been my most favorite domestic destination since first visiting in 1975; I've returned almost annually. Transportation is easy, there are many sights such as the Ferry Building, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Golden Gate Park and SOMA. Its unique architecture is charming and while there's urban blight, it appears during my October 2024 return, the city's trying their best to 'clean it up'. There are many empty businesses in the city that once was very vibrant but it also appears to be starting a rebound economically. Regardless, I will always return to this gem as long as I am able to!

Favorite places were Golden Gate Bridge, The painted ladies, Alcatraz and pier 39 Italian restaurant at Club Donatello served up some beautiful food but expensive. Would still recommend Hotel Club Donatello was very luxurious, and we enjoyed our stay here Target good place to get essentials and food Safe during the day in City center but avoid the back streets. Alot of homeless people and drug dealing on those streets particular The Tenderloin area-open air drug market-common place to see people using and selling drugs, human waste, used needles, and bullet casings litter the street. Do not walk in that area at any cost We got around with Uber and Lyft

We stayed for 6 days. Planned and booked everything in advance to ensure we did what we wanted to. Would recommend e-biking around SF early in any visit to get a feel for the city. Visits to the Golden Gate Bridge, the vineyards and Alcatraz a must. Also dinner at the Top of the Mark for the spectacular views. Loved travelling on the Cable Cars (just like the movies!) and even took a Waymo driverless cab!!

Spotless hotel in a great location. Neighbourhood is very safe and has plenty of bars & restaurants to enjoy. We saw some bad reviews for the car park around the corner so decided to park at a secure car park on union street roughly 10 mins walk away, it was $30 a for 24hrs and very secure. The hotel’s loading bay at the entrance makes unpacking and repacking the car with luggage super easy. Also the rooftop has fantastic views of the city. Overall by far the best option we had found in San Francisco, especially for the price.

first of all was greeted by the owner, who was so lovely, made me feel very welcome, advised on how to best spend my few days in san francisco, gave me map, advise what to do and where not to go. The room was very clean, quiet and felt warm (in a good way). shared bathroom and toilet were very clean and not too many people sharing with. The hotel was 10 min walk to Union square and just slightly more to the closest train station (there direct train to the airport) so very easy commute.

Stayed here for a week. Room is very clean and roomier than expected. There is a walk-in closet in the room which is very convenient for storing your purchases and luggage. The location was perfect right across Saks Fifth Avenue in Union Square. All day free coffee and tea in the lobby, and every other day popcorn. Microwave is also available. Staff was very lovely. Enough eating and breakfast options in less than 2 minute walk. This is the hotel to stay in San Francisco.
