Spread out, drive up to the door to unload car. Very nice lounge area in main lodge. Nice, peaceful location. Wonderful desk staff, especially Paul & Abbey.

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time.
This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Think German beer, smooth and refreshing, the best schnitzel, I ever tasted outside of Germany and the apple strudel so moist, your mouth is celebrating the burst of flavor! Wow, wow, is all I can say. An incredible place. Did not stay overnight, but would love to spend more time there.

Not worth a visit. No mention of the Sound of Music even though it was supposed to have been filmed there.
The Brewery trip is a different case. Modern, good setting with views. Nice friendly staff. Excellent beers and good US food.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the view outside and the fact that our 4th floor room, built into the hill was ground level with a patio in the back. We specifically came to stay at the von Trapp Family Lodge and we look forward to a return visit. We loved the cookies and tea and the tours!
The location is central to many activities and restaurants in Stowe. We attended the farmer's market, which was right next door to the property. We also went to Stowe Cider and Piecasso, all within walking distance of our room. We drove to the Von Trapp Family Lodge for a wonderful dinner and it was only 10 minutes at the most to the lodge and the brewery. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There was a fridge and a hot water heater for tea or coffee. Pillows were very comfortable.
