We had breakfast on Dec 4, 2024 and we had the most wonderful wait person. Her name is April and she went above and beyond to provide us with great service and a friendly experience. She actually tried to find out the brand name of the silver ware we were using ( I was so impressed with the silverware). She brightened our day with her smile. I hope they pay her well, she is a true asset to the Mokara.

The property fits well into the area and respects the culture and history of the city. The rooms are beautifully appointed and I especially loved the balcony for morning espresso—there is a machine with pods etc. in the room. The restaurant and room service were spot on delicious. We ordered steaks for room service and they arrived warm and perfectly cooked. We didn’t feel like going out and thought we’d get good food but likely lukewarm. Instead we received delicious food as if we were at the restaurant. The service in the spa was also excellent, as was the bar. Additionally, my wife is blind and the staff accommodated her in a way that was respectful and genuinely helpful. She felt comfortable navigating the hotel and going to the spa on her own. The staff genuinely seemed to care about the guests and were frankly great. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

I liked it everything everything was great. Also, the hotel staff was very quick to respond. I called him on three separate occasions and within five minutes or less they was at the door.

Do not leave town without going to the Riverwalk.
Do not leave town without going to the Riverwalk. It's much cooler lower than street level. Visit night after Thanksgiving to see all the super tall trees filled with Holiday lights, ride the River boats, catch a river parade, etc. Generally, it's not cold in Fall or Winter until December. Also, Fiesta is a great time to visit! Watch PBS on demand to see Joseph Rosendo's 2 trips to San Antonio!

Boat tours cost money but will let you see more without walking as much. Moat of the restaurants/bars are pricey, but mice and several are unique. Anywhere you park in the city is going to cost you. The Riverfront mall has a parking garage with options based on time and can be a better deal depending on where you are going. Most parking areas are not cast, they are pay by phone.

Head towards the "Museum Reach" area of the River Walk to The Pearl. There are lots of good restaurants there and shopping. Past The Pearl you will find the Witte Museum and the Smoke Shack. Both are worth your time. A good place to eat along the River Walk is Ocho and Tre Trattoria (which is attached to the San Antonio Art Museum).

Everyone needs to visit the Riverwalk at least once. The boat tours are great and very informational. Is it a "must do" everytime I visit...no, but it is a great place to go to eat and get souvineers.

The hotel has a great historical character that meets all the modern needs and the staff was very friendly. The location is perfect because we wanted to be close to the River Walk but not in the midst of the crowds. Colonial Restaurant had a Christmas Day brunch that was fantastic. This was our second stay and we will definitely be back.
River walk is close by, and we were near market square. We didn't drive we took an uber. The hotel is small but nice love it second time we stay at hacienda, because of location, friendly staff, and clean place.

Charming hotel close to quiet section of River Walk. Perfect for those who prefer character to big name hotels. The staff was superb. Felt like we knew them personally by the time we left. Excellent restaurant (Ocho) on site and a cool bar in the basement with a speakeasy feel.
Historical and beautifully restored hotel right on the river walk in very close proximity to the "loop" where many restaurants and shops, as well as the mall are located! Free breakfasts daily, a happy hour with snacks nightly - add to that ornate, attentive and caring team members, and festive ambiance, helps to make the Drury Plaza Hotel on San Antonio's Riverwalk - exceptional!!!!!!!

Nothing to do with the hotel but wanted to add The Christmas parade was a disappointment and not worth it. Just go to San Antonio during the holidays but the Christmas parade is not what you think I would rate it 2 out of 10 not worth $100 for seats
The aging hotel is in a decaying industrial part near downtown San Antonio. Beware! There is a night club next to the hotel. If you get a room on the north side of the hotel, don’t plan on sleeping until 2:00 am Thur - Sunday. However, it is a quick walk to Alamo Plaza and the River Walk.
