This is a gem of a hotel. It is smaller but has all the amenities of a large luxury hotel. Everything from the spa (which is included in the room rate) to the bar service, to the tableware at breakfast, to the robes and pillows on the bed is 5 star. It seems every detail was well thought out-
Oh, and the carpet in our room felt like silk.
The staff was the best I have ever encountered. Every single person working at ERB was kind and thoughtful. They were eager to make our vacation perfect. Thank you!
If we ever return to Slovakia we will stay at the ERB again.

We loved our stay here! The locations is absolutely perfect. The rooms are very nice, staff friendly and rooms spotless. We also ate at the restaurant several times and the food was wonderful. The only issue we had is parking can be a little difficult. Otherwise, exactly as pictured in hotel website.

Currently it is under construction, however not closed. The castle is probably the most famous among those owned by the Hungarian family 'Koháry', which once had the third biggest landholding in the Habsburg Monarchy. For a period, the family even gave the Portuguese King and the Bulgarian emperor.
As a hiker, I give myself only little times to visit such places, so I didn't go inside. The castle represents the calendar (i.e. it has 4 entrances, 12 chimneys, 52 rooms and 365 windows), it is full of hunting trophies and the garden around it is the host of the National St. Hubertus Day (the day of hunters) of Slovakia.
