We only spent 2 days here but were very pleased we chose this hotel. Before we went, we asked about a lift from the airport which they said they could provide at a more competitive rate. The driver Mili was great company and provided us with lots of information. We later found out he was the hotel manager on his day off! The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The buffet at breakfast provided a good selection of hot food, fruit, cold meats, cheeses, breads, pastries and juices. They also provided gluten-free bread when requested.
The hotel is positioned fairly central, close to the town square and some of the few local restaurants and is approximately 15-20 minutes from the Postojna Caves (where you can also get a shuttle ride to the Predjama Castle). The room was clean, reasonably spacious and had the necessary facilities. We would definitely use again.
Located on the main square of Postojna, right next to the old town, Apartments Proteus is set just 500 metres from the famous Postojna Cave.

The room was fantastic with 2 bedrooms perfectly comfortable for families with 2 children like us.
The staff were very friendly and welcomed us kindly. We were even able to use the parking place after checking out to visit the cave.

If you like to explore geological wonders, Postojna Cave is just brilliant. Castle and cave are awesome. Skip underground zoo.
Castle and cave are awesome. Skip underground zoo. Could barely see baby dragons/human fish which is why we paid for it. Expo Karst about caves is just okay but wouldn’t recommend paying to get in.

One of the wonders of the world, an underground fairy-tale...
One of the wonders of the world, an underground fairy-tale land, opens up in front of one's eyes from a small train passing through part of the cave. Huge and all stalactites are a bit different, breathtakingly diverse. The baby dragons are really cute.

The location of the apartment is very good if you want to visit the Postojna cave and Predjama castle. The staff is very friendly. It has a private parking lot where we could leave our car during the time we visited Predjama and Postojna, even after we checked out.

Lovely clean and large apartment. We'd booked this because it had a private parking space and because it was very near to the Postojna caves and Predjama castle. This made it a very handy location to base ourselves in. But what we loved most was that it was clean and spacious and our host made us feel so welcome. The freshly picked raspberries and home-made Slovenian cakes were so kind, so delicious and much appreciated! A really great place to stay!

The rooms are very nice and clean, recently furnished, the staff are hospitable, nice people. The breakfast was very varied and rich, the coffee good.

Wonderful apartment near Postojna Cave and Predjama. Very clean, quiet and private. There are only 2 apartments available that have a private entrance. Kettle and coffee provided in the room - you can stop at the Mercado to pick up some baked goods. Modern accommodations. Host was very helpful getting us checked in.
The apartment was really spacious, clean, light and airy, with lots of helpful kitchen equipment (as well as teas and coffee), pamphlets and information about the area, a little book exchange etc.
Really close to the Postojna caves (a couple of minutes' drive), and then only a minute or two's walk from the apartment to a bakery, supermarket and greengrocer.
The host was super friendly and helpful.

Great staff, brutally good breakfast (had similar only at 5 star hotels) Recomend for travellers passing by and also for longer stay. Very good location for exploring Slovenia (Postojna cave right nearby. Ljubljana, seaside, alps - all cca. 30 minutes away)
Nice location, close to Postojna cave, ideal for short time, free parking around the hotel, nice staff, good breakfast, clean room and whole hotel. I would not have a problem recommend this hotel to my friends on their trip in Slovenia.
