The property was central to the city and situated right next to the Metro and mainline train stations. There was also a taxi rank nearby and several bus stops. There were several places to eat nearby. The hotel provided an excellent and varied breakfast and there is a bistro and bar within so that drinks and food were available without having to leave the hotel. There was also live entertainment in the bar area on certain nights. The hotel was tastefully furnished. We were there to celebrate a birthday and had our room upgraded by Rogerio who was an excellent host providing detailed directions and restaurant recommendations plus making bookings and reservations. He and Lauren arranged a surprise birthday celebration at breakfast with champagne cake and balloons! We could not fault them or the staff at the hotel. We will definitely stay there again and recommend the hotel to our friends. Thank you Rogerio for everything 😁

Great restored palace and interesting building, however lots of wear and tear in the room, which is a pity and breaks down the experience. Location is central although the street itself is less interesting. Views from room balcony are overlooking neighbours roofs and nothing special. In room facilities are OK, bedding OK, beautiful decoration. Bathroom looks very nice, although very large it's not very practical for two persons. Towels and bath robes (size is a joke... way too small) are old and don't belong in a 5*. All together: good stay, but no 5* for us.
Located in the centre of Porto, ICON Duplo Ribeira is situated 200 metres from Ribeira Square and 400 metres from Palacio da Bolsa.

River trip well worth doing.
Walk over the bridge(pictured) almost rubbing shoulders with the passing trains for stunning views.
Cable car amazing over the roof tops and down to the Port wine cellars.
A tram service also takes you along the Douro to the sea.

A lovely river with very rich history, nice bridges, beautiful landscape between Oporto and Gaia. The Foz was just wonderful. I never saw such a beautiful river mouth before. It was so clean and serene unlike many others with tons of plastics and noises of modernity.

If booking a tour, I would recommend going for a smaller group tour as you get to visit some of the smaller vineyards with your money going to local businesses rather than large corporations.
We were in a group of 8 and could also visit places not accessible in a larger coach

We went on a 7-day cruise of Douro River.
We went on a 7-day cruise of Douro River. It was incredibly relaxing watching the cascading terraces of grape and olive plantation along the way. It was a unique experience compared to the Danube and Rhine cruise. If you want quite relaxation, this is the place.
