We didn’t get to the property because a road closure. Because the Rockslide happened and we were 15 minutes from tge hotel, we waited with a bunch of locals from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm until authorities informed the road wouldn’t open . Immediately, we informed the hotel. They charged my room knowing about the natural disaster and no access to the hotel. They didn’t have even the courtesy to respond if any alternate route was available. We spent the night in Aurland waiting for alternative options from the hotel. They just canceled the booking as a no show. Unbelievable! Be aware! We learned the rockslides are common in the area.

The view was great, the location away from the hustle of the port/cruise ship traffic. Quiet. Comfortable. Good breakfast, parking included and easy. Great restaurant (not included) for dinner just steps away. Heated floors in bathroom were nice.

Fretheim Hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The stunning location and breathtaking views truly set it apart. The breakfast was superb, with a wonderful selection to start the day. Everything about our stay was delightful, and we can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. A fantastic experience!

Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri is located in the oldest buildings in the village of Aurland. Located on the shores of Aurlandsfjord, it offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

Perfect location for a visit to Flam. Only a few short steps from the train and close to everything else. The apartment is clean and well appointed. It’s also right next to the grocery store if you feel like cooking!

We had a one bedroom suite overlooking the fjord and the view was truly amazing. The bed, however, was a small queen setup with a below average mattress and cheap pillows in a a very small separate room where you can barely close the door it’s so tight. The other issue is it’s about 15 minutes outside Flåm by taxi, and there was only one taxi guy for the entire area late September when we arrived. Go for the heavenly view, but for only a night, not two like we did.

The location is around half a mile walk to the Flam train station. Walking up to the house at night is not advisable as there are no street lamps. Bring a flashlight 🔦 with you if you arrive late. Your landmark will be the fall that is right across the house. The house is colored white next to the red house, which is another hostel like accommodation. Leaving the house checkout to the Flam train station, we opted for the shuttle car, which is 75KR per person. We didn't feel like lugging our luggage around. So you do have the option for the car shuttle if you want.
Waterfalls
It is near the waterfalls, which is really nice waking up in the morning and just watching the scenery.
Negative
It would have been nice if they provided coffee or tea.
Overall, it was a comfortable nice accommodation.

Amazing location with waterfalls and Mountain views. Easy mile walk into Flam
The location was excellent, only a few meters from the Vatnalhasen station, with superb views of the waterfall, lake and surroundings. The hotel was of its time, but comfortable, warm and welcoming with so many places to sit and relax. The buffet dinner was delicious and varied and the breakfast set us up for the day.
Given the location on top of mountain this hotel has all the basic things u need for a pleasant stay. Even if something needful is not there in room, just ask for it and hotel will arrange it.
Must stay here for a night or two and enjoy every around.
