Hotels near Stegastein Viewpoint, Aurland

The view was great, the location away from the hustle of the port/cruise ship traffic. Quiet. Comfortable. Good breakfast, parking included and easy. Great restaurant (not included) for dinner just steps away. Heated floors in bathroom were nice.

We didn’t get to the property because a road closure. Because the Rockslide happened and we were 15 minutes from tge hotel, we waited with a bunch of locals from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm until authorities informed the road wouldn’t open . Immediately, we informed the hotel. They charged my room knowing about the natural disaster and no access to the hotel. They didn’t have even the courtesy to respond if any alternate route was available. We spent the night in Aurland waiting for alternative options from the hotel. They just canceled the booking as a no show. Unbelievable! Be aware! We learned the rockslides are common in the area.

Easily accessible from Oslo Central Train station by rental car for €94 for a weekend for driving up the 7 or E16 or taking the Bergen F4 Train up the Myrdal and the Flåmsbana down the Valley to the fjord(book early!) the Freheim is my go-to see Norway for $ but have 5-Star experience weekend. The Staff is friendly, shares good information for day trips, travel back to Oslo or over to Voss-Bergan and offers unknown local facts and details that enhanced our experience. Hotel offers a glass enclosed Viewing Tower for star gazing, bird’s eye view of the Fjord and the Northern Lights. A traditional Foods of Norway nightly buffet is available that never disappoints with its traditional and gourmet food options for all diet types. The Daily Breakfast Buffett offers traditional Norwegian foods, continental foods and snippets from around the world. I took my mom here just for the buffets and hotel experience. Worth the full rate, but luckily Booking has offered rates as low as €99 a night!

Very clean, and breakfast was delicious! The staff was very friendly and the view of the fjord was amazing! Walking distance to a small grocery store and a Gastropub that had an excellent dinner and bar menu!

Great location on the water

This is one of the best properties I have booked in my ten years of using Booking.com! It is a very modern apartment in with an amazing view located in a peaceful tranquil area. The owner/manage lives on site and is an amazing guy! One night we could even see the Northern lights from our balcony! The place is stocked with everything you need for an short stay. We cooked every night without an issue. The beds were comfy (though if you are a couple you will have to push two together). The AC works great and shower runs hot. I came off a very stressful work week and this was the perfect place to unwind and be peaceful.
