Beautiful road running through the centre of Oslo, with shops at one end (near the centre) and many bars hotels and restaurants - in addition to the shops - at the other (near to the Palace and Nattionaltheatret station) . Lots and lots of flowers displays plus trees running down the centre of the road, plenty of seating, vibrant and nicely busy.
Great location! 10 minute walk from the express train (from the airport, National Theater stop). Walking distance to all the restaurants, cafes and shops near Karl Johans gate. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet with a variety of hot and cold Norwegian food. Clean and comfortable room. Good value. Coffee and water available at executive lounge until 11pm. Nice place to also hang out outside of your room.

Thon Hotel Astoria Oslo offers a great location next to Karl Johans Gate Street and many other attractions in central Oslo: the Opera House, the Munch Museum, the City Hall, the National Museum, and many others. The Oslo Central Station is within a 5-minute walk and this was convenient. The breakfast was superb. The hotel staff was very friendly and allowed us to check in earlier. Very happy with this stay.

Front desk and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful with directions and transport connections. Recommended a free upgrade to a business room slightly larger. The restaurant is great for dinner too! Nice workout facility too.
