I spent one night there, and it was very pleasant. I was a bit nervous about a message they sent me saying that since the hotel is in a very central location there is a lot of noise coming from the street. I have to say it was not as bad as I expected. I spent Friday night there and there was some noise coming from the street but I just closed the window protectors and wore the ear protectors and the noise just became a soft rumour. I mean, this is not ideal, but if you are spending one or two nights and want to have the central location then it is doable. The hotel is decorated very nicely with travel motifs, the room is comfortable, nice bed and pillows, a nice shower and bathroom.
Hotel Halbert is situated in one the most beautiful streets in Groningen, in the middle of the historical centre. The hotel rooms feature extra long beds and WiFi is available throughout the property....

Generally, a great little hotel. Comfortable, very friendly staff, excellent location, a free glass of cava when you arrive, and a particularly good breakfast. There's a lovely inner courtyard - my room faced on to it, so there was no street noise.

Our room was in the 3rd floor or at least we did 3 groups of stairs as the elevator was broken. The staff offered to take one of the luggage but we did carried the rest. At check out we had to bring the luggage on our own through the stairs because 2 days later they still didnt have the elevator fixed.

I travelled for a conference trip. Staying at the Hotel was part of the wonderful trip. Overall experience was very good.The hotel's location is superb for one who's travelling to attend conference at the University of Groningen. The University is just next door to the hotel. Staff at the counter and in the finance department were passionate and helpful. Very clean and well-equipped room. Excellent breakfast!
The hotel is located in the heart of the city - only 1 min walk to University of Groningen and 5 min walk from the Aa Kerk.
The room is bright and clean, you have anything you need to make a cup of coffee or tea in your room, if you run out of something, hotel staff will always help you.
Another gratitude to the staff for their help and open-mindness.
