When we first entered Hotel Estherea, we were not only greeted by a very friendly staff but the best smelling lobby ever!! We liked it so much we even ended up buying one of their candles to take back to our mother. My twin sister and I stayed there during our 26th birthday trip to Amsterdam and Paris in early December 2024. We couldn't have picked a better location to stay as it was very near the famous Anne Frank House, and centrally located to all things we wanted to do during our visit. Hotel Estherea is charming and embodies the feel of Amsterdam, so we would definitely pick it again. Really enjoyed all the snacks they provided too! We highly recommend Hotel Estherea in Amsterdam.

Pace yourself!
Pace yourself! This is Amsterdam's version of the Louvre -- there's a lot to see. They have kind of a 'greatest hits' exhibition hall that is quite nice and navigable in one visit but if you want to see the other floors I'd suggest going a second day. After awhile it's more than you can absorb. They have a really nice restaurant in the lobby and a cute coffeeshop tucked in a back corner if you need a break halfway through.

There's a fantastic collection of ship models in the basement. Oh, and Rembrant and Vermeer, but lots of other great art. You could spend all day here.
Buy timed tickets online, or walk straight in with a ticket from the museum shop out front. Same price.

Absolutely gorgeous museum.
Absolutely gorgeous museum. Definitely get there at opening (9a) and get a museum map -- it's super helpful and the entire museum is laid out chronologically by floor, area, so it's easy to pick the areas/eras you're interested in. The cafe is a nice stop for a break/snack. Gift shop has nice, reasonably priced items.

Small but comfy and clean room, nice location and a view Rijksmuseum’s rooftops. My room was at 4th floor and elevator saved me a lot of efforts :) after long city walks
Location: The hotel is located at the center of Amsterdam with subway station and tram station access, surrounded by bars/restaurants and shops. It's also only 10 mins walking to attractions like Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum.
Room: The room was stylish, cozy, and surprisingly quiet even with trams/buses running and people sitting on the terrace on Leidseplein.
Service: The staff were polite and helpful, responding to requests quickly. I felt warmly welcomed.
The Fritz is located at the really center of the innercity with Rijksmuseum and other museums like Van Gogh and Stedelijk at your doorstep. My room was very pretty, new and overall very pleasant with a good shower and nice linnen. Check in happened in the little cafe attached to it called "Mina" where we also had breakfast 2 days. We will be back in February and already booked our stay here.
You cannot beat the location. Literally across the street from the Van Gogh Museum and a few more minutes to the Rijksmuseum. Tram stops right outside and also so easy to walk everywhere to really see the city. Igor at the front desk was fantastic.
Gorgeous rooms, beautifully quiet neighborhood, just minutes from the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, and more. The daily breakfast was superb and there were drinks and snacks available each day. Walkable to the canals and public transportation to get anywhere in the city. Excellent service!!
The location is superb! Just a five minute walk from the Rijksmuseum and the van Gogh Museum. It was also close to shops and restaurants. The staff was outstanding – helping you with any question you had and making you feel very welcome . They even had a little snack and bar in the basement where you could note your name and what you took and the items would be added to your bill when you checked out. Breakfast was wonderful as well. Now it is your turn to go!
Our host was excellent. She was engaging, interesting, and helpful. I could not ask for a better location. It is on one of the main canals, close to the tram tracks, within walking distance to the Ann Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the Flower Market, and other attractions. Our rooms faced the canal and gave us a great view of the activity on and around the canal. It was a great experience.
A proper hostel in a great location. Close to Rijksmuseum and 400m from Vijzelgracht metro station. Public transport is easily accessible from all sides.
