Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

Sometimes it takes a while for love to bloom. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a case in point. This ornate Russian Revival cathedral was built at the end of the 19th century, while Estonia was part of the Russian Empire. Considered by many to be an emblem of imperial oppression, it was scheduled for demolition in 1924. However, that never came to pass and here it stands a century later, as one of Tallinn’s most iconic landmarks.

Had a very pleasant time at het kabinet! Carlos and Jan made us feel very welcome during our stay. The location was also superb! Quiet spot but yet very accessible to public transport. The De Pijp neighbourhood had great food options too, with the Albert Cuyp market within walking distance. Highly recommend!
