Buy tickets online in advance. Watch the 2002 movie, "Frida," to get an idea of how Kahlo's family lived. Take a free walking tour of Coyocan before or after the museum to see the neighborhood. Great place to visit if you're into Frida.
Great place to visit if you're into Frida. Disappointingly little of Frida's arte - it's more about the house and her life. Her studio is perhaps the best room. Too many people - but hardly surprising given her remarkable story (and its vigorous marketing by all). I great market with popular food stalls two blocks away. Also the centre of Coyoacan close by.
