I got upgraded to a two bed room (dorm), which was amazing instead of a 6 people dorm. The part of the hostel seems to be located in an old hotel, not renovated but still comfortable enough. There is free coffee and water dispenser. Also, there were some basic amenities provided.
The bus stop is right around the corner.

Lovely characteristic guesthouse. Spacious rooms, a nice porch overlooking the river, and everything you need. The host/manager was super welcoming and helpful, giving us a ride to the park and the bus station!
The location is convenient for Seoraksan National Park and for Sokcho beaches. Frequent buses run to both. The village Seoraksan-Dong itself has a few convenience stores and simple traditional Korean restaurants, with good food. Mon-Thursday it's extremely quiet.
